Chapter 1: The Change

Sam's POV

"Hey Sam." Silly said as she walked over to me. I was on my way to class, Taurtis was absent today. He was at home, he had the flu, so I was alone today. It was going to be boring since I don't have my best buddy around... "Oh, hi Silly." I said as I stopped to talk to her. She smiled, and looked around for something. "Where's Taurtis?" She questioned. I sighed and explained to her why he wasn't here. "He's sick right now, so he won't be here for a while."

"Oh... That sucks, who are you going to hang out with?" She asked. I shrugged and then I walked over to my locker, she followed behind me. I put my textbook away in my locker. "Well if you want to, you can hang out with me and my friends?" She asked. I shoved it in with all other crap like old school work, notebooks, and wrappers from other stuff i forgot about. "Erm, who are your friends?" I asked her.

"Yuki, Invader, and Chan." She said as I closed my locker, making a little bit of a creak that always bugged me. "Sure, I can hang out with you girls." I told her as I smiled and we began to walk to Okami's class. "Great- can't wait to tell them!" She exclaimed. I chuckled while I passed by Dom. He lightly shoved me as he went up the stairs. He pushed me into the wall and he laughed as he passed by. "Watch where you're going, dork!" He said.

"Dom's such a jerk." I complained. Silly silently followed behind me while I went up the stairs with her. "Yeah, he is." She shyly said as she stopped in the middle of the stairs. I didn't notice until I was in the middle point. "What's wrong?" I asked her. She looked up at me, looking at me with her light blue eyes. "N-Nothing..." She said while she slowly made her way up the stairs. "Come with me, whatever is wrong I can help you with- I like helping people." I told her.

"Thanks..." She said quietly. We walked past the old classroom, it was blocked off for a long while now. I wonder when they'll fix everything up there and if they even will... "Hi Silly!" Yuki said as she caught up with us. She walked over to me and Silly as the two gave each other a small hug. "Hey Yuki..."

"Why are you so quiet? You're usually loud." Yuki said as she looked up at me and then back at Silly. "Oh, it get it now, don't worry just be confident." I gave her a confused look. "Why, what is it?" I asked the two. "It's nothing, Sam, let's just go to class." Yuki said as she walked past us. I followed her as the bell rang, which meant we were just in time. "Good morning class! Before we begin, I have a new seating chart!" She said as the class groaned.

"Where am I going to sit?" Invader asked. "Here." Okami said as she pointed to a random desk I didn't check to look for. "And Sam, you will sit here." Okami said as she pointed to Taurtis' seat. "Not bad." I said as I sat down on his old seat.

"Silly... You sit where you sat before." She said, so she sat next to me and she nervously looked at me... I noticed, because I was pretending as if I was looking at Sookie. I don't really like Sookie anymore, she's just not that attractive to me as she used to be. After Okami said everyone's proper places, she started the lesson. Everyone pretty much had the same seat, so I have no idea what the point was in that.

"Ok, now if we can just remain quiet we can take roll!" She cheered as she set out a firework. "Totally safe." Hidden commented as it blew up in the classroom and made a loud BOOM sound. "Ok class today we are going to be doing some arts and crafts! Partner up with the person sitting next to you! After you have your partners I'll explain the lesson!" She said as I turned to my sides and the seat next to me was empty.

It belonged to Taurtis, but he wasn't here so I looked to the other side and saw Silly. "So we're gonna partner up?" I asked with a grin. "Y-Yes." She said as everyone else got their partner. "Ms. Okami can I work with a person all the way across the room?" Sookie asked.

"No." She said as she started hanging out papers. "Your assignment is to draw out an outline for a snowflake, since snow is coming really soon!" She said while she handed everyone instructions, construction paper, scissors, and a pen to outline. "Whoa, mine will be better then everyone's." Hidden said as he got his work. "But I already finished it." Star said as he showed Okami his snowflake, it wasn't half bad. "Good job Star! A+!" She said wide a wide smile.

"So how do you wanna do this?" I asked her as I scooted my seat closer to her.

Silly's POV

Sam scooted closer to me, which made me extremely nervous. What should I do? What should I say. "How about we make a good one?" I asked him, in my head I was kicking my own ass... "Eh, sure, I'll do the outlining and you can cut it out!" He said as he got the pen and started outlining how the snowflake would look like on the white paper. "O-Ok..." I said nervously.

I watched him do the work and he was smiling while doing it. "You're looking good today..." He said, making me blush. "O-Oh... R-Really?" I asked. After a very short pause he finished the outlining and nodded as he looked at me. "Your hair looks good too! I like it." He said as I smiled.

"Thanks Sam..." I said quietly. He nodded and he gave me the paper. "Here are the scissors." He said as he politely handed them to me. I accepted them and smiled as I began cutting the paper. I really want to ask him out...
