Chapter 6
Our kiss was unforgettable. Scott’s lips were so soft and dance around mine with such grace. My mind was swimming with so many thoughts. His hands stayed around my face. I put my own hands around his neck. We continued kissing until we both were out of breath.
“So, do you forgive me,” he asked me.
“Oh yes,” I replied. “Do you want to come inside?” Scott nodded, and then I moved out of my doorway and he walked in.
Usually I don’t invite other people inside the apartment. But lately I have been doing so many things out of character, why not add something else on the list?
“I like it,” he simply commented, and I smiled.
“You’re sweet.”
“So, you know when I said that we should arrange a play date for Gracie and Alyson at dinner? That was my not so subtle way of asking you out on a date,” he said simply.
“Oh, really?”
“Yeah, so before I make a complete fool of myself will you agree to go out with me before we take the girls out? I’d like to take a test drive before we get our sisters together?”
“Oh, I suppose,” I said nonchalantly, but on the inside my head was screaming. He just asked me out!!!!!
Scott smiled and moved closer to me. Apparently I had a stray hair on my face, so he pushed it back behind my ear. I smiled at him, and he gave me a quick peck on my lips. I wanted more, but I thought that I should be patient.
“Do you believe in love at first sight,” he asked quietly.
“No, I believe in lust at first sight; especially when teenagers are involved. Love comes later, after the initial meeting.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really,” I said before I told ahold of one of his hands to take him in the living room.
“What did you mean by when you said that you feel like you’ve known me forever,” I asked after we settled on the couch.
He thought his answer through before answering. Smart guy, I thought. It’s better that he thinks before he talks, otherwise he could be like all of the other guys in the universe who doesn’t think at all. “You know that we only met today. When I saw you at school, even though it was only for a moment, I knew I had to get to know you. I’ve never seen anyone so beautiful in my life. I had no idea that you were the person Brian was trying to set me up with.” I smiled, and let him continue. “When we saw each other at the pharmacy I was lying about me looking for the contact lens solution. I just saw you there and I wanted to talk to you, to hear your voice.
“When Brian called me tonight, saying that you were coming to dinner I was elated. I was so happy because I was going to get another chance to see you and talk to you again.”
“So I think I should ask, do you believe I love at first sight,” I asked when he was done.
“Um, I don’t think so. That idea mostly belongs to chick flicks. I do think that sometimes when you see someone and you just have to meet them, or go out of your way to talk to them, it sure will turn into something.” I nodded, accepting his answer.
“Now, I have another question for you: what about me makes you think I’m beautiful?”
Scott seemed surprised to be asked this question. “Everything; I love your long, wavy dark brown hair. Your chocolate brown eyes are so intoxicating, I can’t even tell you. You are very tall, and I really like a girl with legs. Your lips are so soft. Your figure in general is amazing. Best of all, you walk around like you have no idea how gorgeous.”
