Chapter 12

         She's not here. She said she would be here. But guess where she isn't. HERE. Kara said she would get on the 9am flight out of Bangor (Maine, she's in college remember)  and get here around 7. It's 8:30 and she isn;t here yet. I've texted her multiple times. "Chill, mayber her flight go delayed." Kendall said, sitting down on the couch. "She told me she would tell me if anything happened." I reply sorta bummed. I haven't seen her in almost a year, it would be nice for a visit. "Just try and think positively."  he advised. That's really hard when there are a lot of negatives in your life.

And I know what you're thinking: "You've practically been adopted by THE Kendall Schmidt, toally hot and sweet. What kind of negative could there possibly be?"

If you're thinking that - YOU are naive my friend.

         Just then I got  a text from Kara: Got caught up in school, totally forgot.

We all know that isn't true. I know that she never wanted to see mom. Her and mom never got along. And kowing her she'd be okay if mom died.

         After reading that, I threw my phone on the couch in anger. Kendall picked it up and read the message. "So she got caught it school, she'll come another dday." he's acting like it'sw no big deal. "You don't understand. #1 FORGOTTEN. AGAIN. #2 I know she doesn't really care my mom is in rehab. #3 I know for a fact she doesn't really wanna see me anyway. #4 She's lying. If she wasn't she would've actually called me and told me what happened." I protest. Kendall sighed. "Then I really don't know what to tell you. I try to help you through all of this, but sometimes I just don't know what to say. And this is one of those times. I can't help you here. he says. Okay then. That was uh...sudden. "Okay then." I mutter and start to go upstairs to my room. "But we can still go visit your mom tomorrow if you like." he finishes, trying to make up for all he just laid on me. "Okay." I say quietly and go upstairs.

         Lily again, is one of the only people who know s about this. "She what?" Lily asked after I called her and told her about the Kara thing over the phone. "She just ditched me. Left me in the dust. Nope, doesn't care she's been gone for almost a year." I reply. "That's it. I'm sleeping over." and in a matter of seconds there is a dead tone on the other line. And about five minutes later she was coming in through the front door.

"Whatcha doin Lil?" Kendall asked as she walked in. "My bestfriend/cousin's sister just bailed on her and her mother is in rehab. Why wouldn't I be here?" she asked, stopping in her tracks. "Touche."  he retorted and goes up to his room.

              After just venting and talking about things it was almost 3am. I guess we started laughing too loud and Kendall came in, hair messed up, tired bags under his eyes and no shirt. "It's 3 in the morning, why are you two still so loud?" he asked groggily. "I'm guessing we woke you." I say, chuckling at his hair. '"What gave you the hint?"he replied sarcastically. "I don't know, you look like the bride of Frankenstien with that hair, and my great aunt Maggie with the bags under the eyes. Oh and your shirtless." first and only thing I learned from Kara: someone asks you a sarcastic question - answer like an asshole. "Oh, haha, go to bed. Love ya." he ruffled my hair and turned out the light.

We were just left in darkness.
