Ria called everyone outside to the tables that she made the boys set up. Alofa and Oriana carried trays of food to the table, chatting away. Every chance the women got they took it to stand in a circle and talk talk talk non stop. Alofa looked as though she'd always been here. She already adjusted with ease with everyone but her husband. Ryder didn't know why but he wanted his wife to feel at ease with him. A few of the boys bought their girl of the month with them who openly stared at all the boys. One couldn't take her eyes off Ryder. Somehow Ryder found himself next to her at the table. He waited to see where Alofa would sit. Danyn pulled a seat out next to him and called Alofa to sit beside him. She smiled but searched the yard til she found Ryder. He watched as she graciously turned down Danyn and walked towards Ryder.
Alofa- "I'll make you a plate."
She moved to do just that when Ryder shook his head. In one swift motion, he pulled his wife onto his lap wrapping an arm around her waist to stop her struggling. She adjusted her ie blushing at Ryder's display of possessiveness.
Alofa- "What are you doing?"
"Eat with me."
Alofa- "I need to help the girls with the feaus."
"They're already sitting down."
He waited while she glanced around and saw Oriana and Ria were indeed seated beside their husbands who seemed to want to eat their wives more than the food. None of the boys seemed to mind or be bothered by the boys open affection towards their wives.
"Are you hungry?"
Alofa- "No thank you."
"Why are you ma for?"
Alofa- "I'm not use to sitting like this."
"I sure as hell hope not."
Alofa- "Don't curse."
"Are you tired?"
Alofa- "No. I really like the girls."
"They like you too."
Ryder kept putting food in his wife's mouth. He didn't think she realized she was being fed or that her body had relaxed enough that she leaned into him. Ryder felt like grinning over it but he didn't dare.
The boys started talking about the business. Ryder answered all the questions thrown at him with careless ease while he lazily rubbed his wife's back.
Nathaniel- "Sole, I think we should save this for later."
Ryder agreed. The topic turned heated when Psalms name came up. The tension in the air electrified as each recalled the betrayal. Ryder glanced at Jay who had a faraway look on his face. No one felt the sting of the betrayal more than Jay did. He nearly lost his family that night.
Alofa- "Who is psalms?"
Everyone remained quiet. She twisted around to stare at Ryder.
"A lesson."
Alofa looked confused.
"I don't understand. Is it a person or are you referring to the bible?"
Jay- "He's a bas..ket ball."
Alofa looked more confused.
Ria- "He used to be part of the boys in their business but he isn't anymore."
Alofa- "What exactly is this business?"
All the boys turned to Ryder to see if he would answer his wife.
