"I know sometimes, it's gonna rain. But baby can we make up now cause I can't sleep through the pain. Girl I don't wanna go to bed mad at you. And I don't want you to go to bed mad at ME." - Neyo
A month flew by since the incident in the lounge room. Ryder never heard a peep from his parents though he was cut that his mum was dragged into it. His marriage began thriving better than Ryder expected. He found himself making excuses to leave work early to go home to his wife. He never was one who had the patience to have a conversation with a woman if it wasn't leading to the bedroom but he found that he enjoyed talking with his wife who was witty and intelligent. The mini arguments were always ruined and would frustrate the hell out of Ryder when she would use big words or cut him off mid-lecture by singing just to shut him up. His wife was an absolute head doer, Ryder couldn't have been happier.
"Why do you do that?"
Alofa- "Do what?"
She wore an innocent look.
"Try to have the last say. Do you want to be a politician?"
Alofa- "Eh! You need to learn to control your temper and relax. Your mood swings are so inconsistent, it's hard for me to keep up. It's like your narcissistic!"
"A what?.. What the hell does that word mean??"
Alofa- "Google it."
"Auu, koekiki google se po I lau guku." (Aye google your face in a minute)
Alofa- "Would you really hit me?"
"Yeah I would....with my mouth."
Alofa gasped.
"To shut you up."
Alofa- ...
Ryder hid his grin at his wife's expression, he loved everything about her. He suddenly lost his good mood. Where did that thought come from? Ryder didn't know how but he let his guard down and his wife had snuck her way in to his heart making him vulnerable.
Alofa- "Are you ok?"
"Yeah, why?"
Alofa- "You look as though you just had a bad taste in your mouth."
Ryder wasn't about to let his wife know he just realized he was in love with her. If he wasn't careful, she could use it against him knowing she had just become his weakness. He wasn't taking the revelation well at all. Well hell, If he was in love with her than he was gonna make sure she would be miserable with him and love him back.
Ryder- "I'm fine. I need to go do some work stuff tonight so don't wait up. I might be late."
Alofa watched the change in her husband and couldn't fathom what was wrong with him. He seemed to have turned green in the face. She graced him with a smile which nearly faltered when Ryder cleared his throat, he waved bye and turned to leave which had Alofa wondering if he was coming down with something.
Ryder sped all the way back to work with his new found revelation. He pulled into parking, jumping out of his car to go in his office like the devil was on his heels. He walked straight pass the boys not stopping til he was behind the closed door and then he breathed a sigh of relief. He needed to tell someone but who?
He dialed Dommies wife who knew what to do and would most likely show him that he was worrying over nothing. She only had time to pick up when Ryder jumped straight to the point of his dilemma not bothering to say hello. When he finished talking he awaited to hear her opinion. She stayed quiet, pondering for a bit before she finally spoke, amusement clear in her voice.
