"Don't worry, I'll see you again." Jake said happily, a sickly smile plastered on his face. I wiped the tears away as he patted my head, "Just remember, it's all in your head."

I suddenly looked up and him to see he wasn't there. My mind always playing tricks on me, or he's just gone in an instant. Jake was my only friend besides Neon, my cat I found on the streets. I've been living alone in this cruel world for the remaining of my life. I would steal food or distract people so Neon could wiggle a few items in our bag. But all of this didn't make me happy.

I would always look in the sky, thinking when will I ever see Jake again? Or if he's even real for that matter. My blonde hair was pushed up in a ponytail as I climbed out of bed, not seeing a single airplane soar by hoping it would land by and see a happy Jake coming out. I fixed my tattered skirt and placed my hoodie on. Grabbing my bag, I empty it out form all the last week items we stole.

Neon purred softly as she climbed on the bed. I smiled at her, "Don't worry girl, I'll try to get extra tuna this time." Our daily run conceited of blackmailing people by giving us money, buy a few items then steal the rest. There wasn't much thought on it.

I slid the bag on and let Neon jump in through the opening. I slid my hood on and opened the apartment room window and climbed out. I held onto the railing as I kept my fingers through the creeks and cracks so I wouldn't fall. I reached for the ledge and swung my legs over so I could catch the end of the latter. I scooted over and placed my hands on the cold latter and sighed.

"Here goes," I jumped down from the latter and paced out of the dark alley. I scanned the happy crowd of people. Today was a busy day, everyone was chatting around, smiling as they bought fresh products. I placed my head on the brick wall and whispered the Neon, "Alright first, we're gonna slide around and get a few apples from that cart, seeing everyone is to busy to watch it. Neon, I want you to use your charm so I can get you that tuna I promised. The rest I'll do." She meowed as she jumped out of my bag and scurried to the apple cart.

I casually walked from the dark alley, people not giving me a second glance.

As I got closer to the cart, I glanced at Neon seeing she was already using her charm for the customers to see. As they were to busy patting her, I snuck three ripe green apples into the bag. I went down into a crawl as I crawled under the row of tables to get to the other items. They were selling all kinds of things. I got five cans of tuna, a old blanket, a few worn out clothes, a cat toy, and a few other bags of chips.

I sighed in content and smiled as is aw the new collection pack of Naruto manga and DVDs. I reached out to grab the Naruto collection but felt a hand snap at mines. I held in a sequel and looked up to see the older man, the store clerk, glaring at me.

"What you thing your doing, kid?" He growled as I stood up. I didn't answer but quickly grabbed the Naruto collection and threw them in my bag. He yelled after me and Neon was already by my side ready to run.

As we ran, I tugged my bag closed, turning to see not only the store clerk after my. Flunking my bag over my shoulder I smirked down at Neon, "Let's see if these traps paid off." She meowed before we cut turns, the two police officers and store clerk still following me.

My combat boots stomped on the ground as I reached the street where I set up the traps. I jumped over the invisible cord and turned around, laughing as one cop stumbled over it, causing the cord to hit the string connected to a cart. The cart of apples from earlier came stumbling down. The grunts of mischief was heard as I laughed. "Gee, I didn't know they were that stupid."

But I stopped laughing to see the store clerk wasn't giving up. "Stop right there!" He cried at me.
I sighed, still running as I shouted over my shoulder, "It's just a Naruto collection!" I suddenly turned into a dark alley way and saw Neon distracting the store clerk.

I climbed up the latter and swung my legs back over to reach the ledge. I huffed and crawled through the window, throwing the bag full of items onto the old mattress. I heard a meow and smiled as Neon crawled from the hole. "Good job girl, we got a few things worth stealing."

I rummaged through the bag and pulled out the cans of tuna. I went to the cupboard and grabbed Neon cat bowl to placed the raw tuna on. I let the tuna down and Neon immediately went for it. I took my hoodie off, flicking the switch to see if the fan worked. I whined in irritation, "It's so hot, this run down building isn't doing me any good," Neon gazed at me, "Isn't doing us any good." I corrected.

I opened a bag of chips and made a quick sandwich. I crunched on my meal as I hummed. "It haves all the seasons for Naruto. But the collection seems more entertaining. But I'm to lazy to read," I hooked up the old tv and placed the first season of Naruto into the player.

My mind hitched over as I thought about Jake.

"One day, we will see each other again." He said once, but it's been a while. My head started hurting, "He's not real." I told myself.

I gazed outside, seeing it was already dark out. I wished I could see Jake again, not be alone any longer. Even though I had Neon, I wanted more. I wanted a family, parents, brothers or sisters. I didn't remember my parents or how I even ended up in this miserable life time. No one accepted me, I wished that all could change. 11:11 struck in the clock and I laid down, maybe just one day, things could get better.
