CHAPTER 08

“I got invited, duh?”

I groaned, remembering that Keith is the quarterback of the football team. Of course, Ravi will invite him. They’re on the same team after all.

“What do you want?” I asked him, crossing my arms over my chest.

He shrugged his shoulders, “Nothing, just wanted to mess with you.”

“Wolfe is not here, there’s no one to annoy. So, can I go now?”

I was about to walk away when he grabbed my hand and pulled me into his chest. Why does this always happen to me? What did I do, God?

“What do you mean no one? You’re here,” He snickered.

I sighed, “I don’t have time for you, Mr. Bad Boy wanna-be.”

His brows puckered, “Wanna-be? Oh, please. I am a bad boy without trying.”

I shoved his chest, “You’re too close for comfort. If you want to talk, we can talk in the living room or somewhere with a bright light.”

He laughed cheekily and raised an eyebrow at me, “Hmm... I wonder what happened to my nerdy girl. The last time I saw her, she was still a meek nerd who doesn’t dare to fight back.”

Oh bad. I have been slacking off with my disguise. I never thought it would be this hard to pretend to be someone else and change my personality...

“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Tell me a lie,” He whispered in my ear and reached for my arms, slipping his other hand at the back of my neck. Wait... what is the meaning of this position?

I was still thinking when his minty breath fanned my lips.

O my God!

Yeah, I sure say that a lot these days. Don’t blame me. I am in dire need of God’s guidance here.

I shoved his chest again, a bit harder this time. “What were you doing?!”

“I was about to kiss you.” He flashed an arrogant smile, “You didn’t know?”

I felt my blood rush to my cheek. “Are you playing with me?!”

“Kind of, but if you want me to be serious, you just have to ask.”

“You’re a jerk!” I kicked his shin before storming out of the room. I left him inside, hopping as if he was standing on lava while rubbing his shin and cursing with all his might.

I sighed. This is bad. I’m beginning to be the centre of attention again. What should I do?

“Rav, hand me a fork.” I ordered him.

“Why should I?”

“Because you love me,”

“No I don’t,”

“Yes, you do. Hand me a fork or you’ll never see another day.”

“Here ya go, madam,” I glared at him. “What? Do you want it or not?”

“So, what happened with Lei last night?” I cocked an eyebrow at him.

“Nothing,”

“Stop avoiding my eyes, Ravi. You’re such a terrible liar.” I shook my head in disbelief.

“Not much. She tackled me on the floor. She thought I was her little brother. I think I broke a few bones, though.”

“Oh, she is so not going to look at you again.” I said between fits of laughter.
