CHAPTER 07

“Rin... Do I look okay?” Leila asked for the gazillionth time today.

I sighed, “You don’t look okay, Lei. You look gorgeous.”

“Are you sure?” I see she’s still not satisfied with it.

“I swear, Lei. One more ‘do I look okay?’ question and you are hitting the roads.” I told her through gritted teeth.

Patience is my number one virtue but honestly, Lei has already drained all of my patience today. She has been like this ever since she has arrived here—fidgeting, freaking out and asking me questions about her appearance and blah blah blah.

“But-”

I held a hand to stop her, “One more.”

“Okay! Geez... I’m just so nervous! Can’t you at least help me calm my nerves?” She bit her lower lip as if it was a chewing gum.

“No. I’m done with calming you down. Ugh! Why didn’t you tell me you had such a big problem with your nervous system?!” I threw my hands up in the air in exasperation.

She chuckled, “I don’t!”

“Oh, right. So, now you’re laughing.” I rolled my eyes at her.

“I’m sorry, okay? I promise, I won’t ask again. I am gorgeous.” She grinned at me.

“Right, so will you please get your ass off of my bed now and go downstairs.” I pointed a finger towards my door.

She giggled, “You’re so cute when you’re mad.”

“Now, Leila Brown, NOW,”

“Okay, okay! I’m out now.” she half-run towards the door in her 4-inches beige pumps.

Phew, thankfully, that part is done. I have spent three hours just to convince Leila that she looked okay. Let me tell you, that was the hardest part!

And now that she is finally out of my room, it’s time to start Ravi’s party! I have estimated the exact time the party will start. I looked at my watch; it read 7:30 pm. I was right.

The loud gigantic stereos started playing and people, ranging from fifteen to nineteen, started to fill up our house. Yes, this party was exclusive for teenagers only. Ravi made that point crystal clear in his invitations.

I accompanied Lei out of my room and to the staircase. “Lei, don’t forget the plan, okay? Remember these reminders:  One, don’t faint at the sight of him, he is not a freaking Greek god. Two, stick to the plan and wait for my signals. Three, never ever go to a dark and enclosed space with him, I swear, you’ll be raped!” Leila laughed heartily at the third reminded. I don’t think it was funny, though. I was being serious about that point.

With Ravi being a whore, he’s already an expert with all types of women; he can have them in bed with just a little flirting, and of course, with Leila being a little naive and weak in front of a guy she likes... I think you can just imagine what will happen.

“Okay, Rin. I got it,” Leila winked at me before walking down the stairs as if she owned the whole place. Her black retro a-line dress hangs comfortably just above her ankles, hugging her soft curves. Her hair was let loose and it was curled in a natural way.

Oh, I just remembered! I helped her curl her hair. I burned some parts though... She was planning on putting it in an up-do but then the burns would be obvious and so leaving it loose was the only option left. I sighed as I thought about it. I am such a useless friend.
