The Busker Story (Chapter 3)

Ronan Blue was your typical perfect guy; straight A's, captain of the football team, goodlooking and downright nice guy. However, he wasn't the guy mentioned in the last chapter, so I'll start describing the guy who was; his brother Craig.

He was second best, an imitation of his older brother. B's and C's, co-captain of the hockey team, too tan and too muscley, and all of these things, and more besides, made him bitter. He made snide remarks and put people down, and bullying people was his greatest skill. For some reason he had a known vendetta against Jack, and he wasn't known to branch out. Yet here he was, standing in Kai's garage, motioning to two guys holding a drum kit. They set it down on the ground and walked off.

Kai stared, one eyebrow raised. She coughed. "What are you doing here, Craig?"

He laughed. "Not very bright, are you. What does it look like I'm doing?" And before she could protest, he started playing.

Kai was annoyed. She hated Craig. But he was good. Very good. They hadn't heard anyone who could play half as fast or as good. She sighed to herself. "I'm not guaranteeing anything,"she grumbled when he was finished. "But that was good." He smirked. "I'll be here for practice tomorrow at 11:00 am. And you don't mind if I just leave that here, do you?" He gestured to the drum kit. "Didn't think so," And with that he he went inside.

Beth was not going to be happy.

While this was happening, however, she was very happy. She was watching an episode of Friends with Jack, talking with an idiotic smile on her face. The episode ended, and they both went for the zapper at the same time, banging heads. Beth giggled, rubbing her head.

"What's so funny?" Jack asked.

"Nothing" she said. "Just in this movie The Matchmaker, they say that in every good relationship, there's a moment when you both bang heads." She blushed, realising what she was saying.

Jack went red. "Maybe we should test that theory," He took a deep breath and leaned in. Beth closed her eyes...

And the door banged open, to reveal Craig.

"Well hello, Hunter " he sneered. "And who's this, got yourself a girlfriend, gesturing towards a blushing Beth.

"I'd better go," she mumbled.

"Beth, wait..." Jack whispered. But she was already out the door. He glared at Craig.

"Oh, was I interrupting anything? Pity. As you're here, I take it I'll see you at rehersal tomorrow?"

Jack didn't normally have a temper, but now he saw red. He leaned in close to Craig, although he was taller and stronger.

"You won't." He growled. "Because if you're here tomorrow, you'll regret it."

Craig laughed, and pushed him, sending him stumbling on to the couch. "I doubt it. Goodbye." And he left again.

Jack was furious, but he had to find Beth. He got up, and ran for the garage to get help from Kai.
