Bianca sat staring at the space Gael's car vacated, anger and jealousy flowing in her veins. Who was that girl? She looked so boring and plain, whatever did Gael see in her? Her thoughts were all over the place. She didn't know where to begin to unravel the mystery of Gael's new girl. How could he ever dump her for someone who was wearing a white polo shirt and boring skinny jeans? She was far more beautiful and stylish than that old maid Gael allowed inside his car. Even she hadn't even been able to ride in Gael's new sports car! She was now fuming! She composed herself before getting out of the car and into the bakery. She ordered the bread that Edith had asked for and in a fury drove to her best friend's house. She practically threw the ciabatta bread onto the center island as she walked into Edith's condo, surprising her best friend.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Edith asked.
"I've seen her."
"Seen who?" Edith asked, more confused than ever.
"Gael's new flavor of the month."
"Oh really? Where?"
"They were coming out of the bakery as I was about to get out of my car."
"Did they see you? Was there a big scuffle?" Edith asked worriedly.
"No. I stayed in my car. I was literally frozen in place. I was just in shock."
"What did she look like?" curiosity laced Edith's voice.
"She looked like a homebody. She had on boring old clothes, her hair was in a ponytail, and she had no make up on. I mean, yeah, she's pretty, in a boring, old-fashioned lady kinda way. I guess that's what your stupid brother is into nowadays. Someone needs to tell him that the 'Ugly Betty' fad ended years ago, and that that kind of horse crap doesn't happen in real life," Bianca huffed.
"Binx, relax," Edith rubbed her friend's back.
"Relax?! I can't relax! I lost to THAT?! I can't accept that."
"Like you said, he must just be going through a phase. Just give him a few more months, then he'll probably get over it."
"So I'm just supposed to wait for him as he has boring, old-fashioned lady shags with that whore? I don't think so."
"Gross, Binx! That's my brother you're talking about," Edith grimaced.
"Sorry, bessy. I just can't wait idly by, you know. All of this," she pointed to herself, "is too perfect to stay at home."
"Good! Go out on dates yourself then! That's the Binx I know and love."
Just then Bianca was in tears. "But Gael is the one I want. What does she have that I don't? I really don't understand, Bessy. You should've seen her. She's the kind of girl that nobody gives a backwards glance at. But he was so sweet to her, opening the door and carrying her stuff...and she got to ride his new car. I was really puzzled by that."
"Really? Even I haven't ridden in his prized baby yet, and I'm his sister," Edith scratched her head.
"So is he coming here later?" Bianca asked hopefully, wiping the tears from her cheeks.
"He said he was busy. Now we know why," Edith shrugged.
"Ugh! I hate him! I hate her! I hate him AND her!" Bianca was still filled with rage. "I want to know who she is and strangle her! She better enjoy her time with him now because I can assure you, it is not gonna last."
"Well, Bessy, what are you planning to do? You know there's a saying you can attract more flies with honey than vinegar," Edith winked at her.
"What do you mean?"
