"Why are you leaving?" Sarah asked me as she turned around in her desk in front of me.
"I'm flying to Cali to be with the girls for three months," I said back.
"Oh cool," my friend said. "Can you-"
"Wait," Jeremy said looking at me from the seat beside Sarah. "You mean to tell me you're leaving again? You'd be missing a total of four months just this school year because you couldn't stand being without your famous sister for another month so you went on tour with them at the beginning of the school year."
Sarah and I glared at him before he rolled his eyes. "Why? Are you jealous?" Sarah asked.
Jeremy made a face at her. "No dipshit, she'll probably have to get held back. I'm surprised she hasn't been to court yet."
They both looked at me. "Em, I hate to say it, but douche over here has a point."
"Okay, that was rude," he said to Sarah who just rolled her eyes and countered with, "Oh whatever, you called me dipshit."
He turned around and out of the corner of my eye, I saw him smile. It wasn't one of those sarcastic jerky ass smirks he gives me either. This one was genuine.
"Well, if you guys must know, my parents have been talking to the school board. They're thinking about either getting me a tutor for the time I missed, or just home school me."
"You can't be homeschooled," Sarah and Jeremy said in unison. They looked at each other and I looked from Sarah to him.
"Why? All you've done is make my time here an actual living hell."
Jeremy looked down at his pencil. "Yeah, but that doesn't mean I want you to go." It was barely audible.
"What the hell?" I asked before shaking my head. I sat up straight in my chair. "You've tortured me Jeremy. You had your friends bully me and before that, You got the whole school to do it, but by the grace of God and my big sister with the help of four other girls, they all stopped except for your group of friends." My voice raised in the middle, by I brought it back down to a whisper.
"I know and I'm sorry. I'll tell them to quit, just please." He paused and held my hands in his. "Don't leave."
I looked between our hands and Jeremy, confused at him.
"You're giving me mixed signals." I pulled my hands back. "And it doesn't matter- you shouldn't have done it to begin with. You caused me to self-harm Jeremy. I had to have an intervention because of you, your girlfriend, and Matt."
Jeremy sighed. "I'm sorry, okay?"
I looked at him sideways and the bell ring signaling lunch, so the whole class got up and left.
"One more hour," Drew said as he pulled me in for a quick kiss.
We both sat down with the rest of the group, taking our time to eat lunch while we joked about things and told funny stories about our past.
"Drake once fell down the stairs in front of the whole school," Delaney said laughing at the memory as well as her older brother.
"Why?" Sarah questioned holding her stomach.
"What do you mean why?" Drake asked looking at her. "My feet and brain just decided to not correspond correctly and I tripped." He paused. "I broke my arm."
"Emily Jauregui to the office you're being checked out," the lady over the intercom said.
I sighed. "I'll see you guys later." I stood up and grabbed my bag, slinging it over my shoulder.
"Emily wait," Drew said and quickly stood up.
I turned around and he embraced me in a hug, giving me a long kiss before saying, "I love you. Be careful and have fun."
I smiled. "Will do. I'll call you later tonight." I looked at the three other people and waved. "Talk to you guys later."
"Bye," they all gave me a hug before I walked off toward the main office, talking to Jeremy on the way there.
"You ready?" My mother asked and I nodded.
We went home so I could put my back pack up and take a shower before we left.
I go out and dried my hair, applied some light make up and changed into a pair of booty shorts and a band tee before throwing on my Fifth Harmony sweatshirt that was a little big on me.
"Are you nervous?" My mother asked as we waiting for my flight to be called.
I nodded. "Yeah, but I'll be okay."
"Who's coming to get you?" My father asked.
"Dinah, I think," I said thinking back on a couple weeks ago when Lauren and I talked on the phone. I haven't talked to her since then.
A few minutes later, Dinah walked out of the terminal and over to us. "You ready?"
I nodded and we waited another hour before our flight was called.
"Flight 439 to Las Angeles California is boarding now," we heard throughout the airport.
"That's you," my parents said in unison.
I gave them both a hug and my dad whispered, "Diviértete y asegúrese de tomar cuidado de su hermana, ¿de acuerdo? te quiero." (Have fun and make sure you take care of your sister, okay? I love you.)
I nodded. "Sí papá. Te amo."
"Take care of my girls Dinah," my dad looked over to the tall Polynesian.
"Will do Mike." She nodded and hugged both of my parents.
My parents hugged me one last time before I had to board the plane.
I found my seat and sat down, plugging my earphones into my phone and looked out the window when I got a text from Lauren.
Lauren: Hey it's Normani, Lauren is in the shower right now but she told me to text you to tell you that she loves you and can't wait to see you in nine hours. Have fun with that flight btw. Dinah can be a total grumpy pants if she's on a plane for a long period of time.
"How rude," Dinah said sitting next to me.
I just shook my head as I laughed. "You're funny," I said and put my phone on airplane mode before turning on my music, Dinah doing the same.
Let this flight go by fast.
