Mako Secrets - The last merman

You rip me apart.

Full moon is rising on the sky when a fast golden creature storm inside a completely wrecked dark cave from an underwater tunnel.

Creature sight disappointed and lean to the edge of moonpool catching her breath.

"I thought I'll find you here!" A friendly male voice comment suddenly from the doorway of land ingoing.

"Zane! What are you doing here?" Rikki snort and wipe away the salty drops from the corner of her eye. "I wont cry. Especially not in front of him." She think annoyed.

"It's fullmoon. I thought I'd check on you." Zane say friendly walking towards the pool. "I'm worried Rikki. You've been so distant and quiet. Nothing like you." He continue leaning down near Rikki and looking at her with his worried puppy eyes.

"I'm fine. Just go okay." Rikki snort frustrated.

"No you're not. I know you don't want us to be together. But please let me be your friend. Let me be here for you." Zane say worried and nervous tone on his voice. Rikki has always been hard to read, but now she's truly starting to worry him. She's not even sassy or picking at him like she used to.

Rikki stand up from the water and dry herself. Then she walk to the wall of the cave and kneel to the ground. She take one of the blue stones to her hand and say disappointed.

"There's no magic left. Nothing at all. There's nothing to worry about. This cave wont do anything to anyone even tho it's fullmoon."

Zane walk beside her and kneel. "I'm sorry.. I really am. If there's anything I can do.." He start raising his hand on Rikki's shoulder.

"Look at this!" Rikki suddenly burst angry and jump up from the ground.

"It's completely wrecked Zane!! It's dead! You and your bitchy girlfriend with the greed in your eyes destroyed it! And now you say if there's anything you can do!"

Zane sight quietly and stand up.
"It could be worse." He say smiling awkwardly at Rikki.

"Worse? How exactly it could be worse?" Rikki scream annoyed and Zane can almost see her eyes catching a fire.

"I said I'm sorry! What else you want me to do? I know it was mistake okay. But Sofie didn't take anything! And she's not my girlfriend. I don't even miss her." Zane yell disappointed and swallow loudly. "Unlike you.." He start quietly hanging his head so Rikki won't see his eyes slightly getting moist. "Every single minute I think about you and what I have done. Every single day I wish I could undone everything that ever hurt you. I miss you so much Rikki. You and your touch. I can wait until I die, but please.." He stop again and swallow loudly. "Forgive me." He then continue so quietly that it's hardly heard.

Disappointed and defeated look on his face biting his lips he use every single muscle he has so he won't burst into tears.

"I'm a tough guy. I wont cry." He scream inside his head. But what he really want to do is grap Rikki to a caring tight hug and cry her shoulders wet. So ashamed he is for what he did.

"How could I let Sofie trick me like that. And what a price I need to pay." He sight more to himself and fall on his knees.

Rikki can't resist a little smirk escaping her lips. But fast before Zane notice she take serious cold look on her face again.

"Oh wow!" She sight and roll her eyes arrogantly. "Well if you wanna kiss everyone who drool over you be my guest. But count me out! Read my lips! I don't want anything to do with you." She continue slowly starting to get more annoyed.

"What?" Zane snort and stand up. "It's all about Sofie! You don't care that I destroyed this cave. You're mad because I did it with Sofie. You're jealous." He say smirking.

Rikki sight annoyed gazing at the moonpool beside her.

"Oh come on Rikki. Admit it. You love me still." Zane continue smirking teasingly poking her shoulder gently.

"Shut up!" Rikki shout ultimately pissed and raise her hand to throw Zane towards the wall with her powers!

"I don't love you and I'm not jealous of that skank! How pathetic from you to even think that she is the biggest problem here. This cave is my home! You ruined it and you ruined me! Stay away from here and from my life!" She shout flames flaring in her eyes.

Zane fall on the ground straight on the rocks holding his leg in pain.

"You... bitch!" He sight and stand up grabbing his probably broken leg.
"Fine! I'm done trying. I'm sorry I messed up your life. I wont bother you anymore." He snort and walk to the doorway slouching. Every single body part of him is on horrible pain and every step he take makes him gasp when he almost faint for the ripping feeling on his leg.

Rikki gaze after him shocked. "Omg. What's wrong with me? I could have killed him?"

Words are stuck on her throat. She want to say that she's sorry and maybe she still doesn't control her powers fully. But she just stare after Zane who slowly disappear behind the wall.

After Zane's figure is completely gone she jump into moonpool planing to leave the entire town and just swim until she can't move her tail anymore.

But then she remember her father and friends. And the baby she's carrying.

"I can't just leave everything. I know nothing about having a baby. I don't even have a mother in my life. I'm so lost." She say disappointed gasping for air and holding her stomach.

"Why me? Why now?" She gasp all over again. Her face is forced to a painfull grin. And she can feel physical pain inside her heart. The pain is overhelming and suddenly she can taste salty water on her mouth.

Slowly tears start to flow from her shining blue eyes and no matter how hard she try she can't stop them from coming. She scream from the pain inside her and let the tears water her face completely. Eyes closed mouth open crying outloud she burst out all the pain and disappointment in her life.

The pain that grew for living without a mother. Pain that she felt when she was always the weirdo and no one was her friend before Cleo and Emma and now Bella. Pain that she felt when she thought like many other teenager girls that she will never find love. Many years she lied to herself that she doesn't even want to feel that. But after falling for Zane she started to change the thought she had towards love and relationships. But after getting hurt again she sweared that she won't love again. But why is it hurting then? Why can't she just get over him and move on?

Lastly she cry because of the wrecked moonpool. This mermaid part in her life has been only real thing and now even that is gone. Moonpool that felt more like a home to her is destroyed and there's nothing she can do about it.

She cries and hold her stomach doubled while her eyes leak sparkling drops to the air.

Slightly they form a huge shiny waterwall around the moonpool.

Gasping startled she open her eyes and finally stop crying. "What the?? Is that?" She think confused and try to touch the odd wall around her.

The wall sparkle like thousand stars and suddenly it grows covering the moonpool completely.

Rikki try to escape from the water, but the water surround her like it did when they together formed a water statue to push meteor away earlier.

Just this time she's alone and this sparkling water is from her eyes.

Rikki close her eyes so she wont get blind when the whole cave start to sparkle like an exploding supernova!

Suddenly the waterstatue is gone and when Rikki open her eyes the cave is completely repaired. Not a single peace of stones no longer lay on the ground and the walls are just like they were before the water snake appeared. But everything was more shiny.. Like a new paint on car or house. Glowing like a new leather jacket.

Rikki stare around the cave stunned. "It healed itself.." She gasp quietly.

"No.. It was me. My tears healed it. I healed the moonpool cave." She then say confused, but happy.

"And there I thought that legend of mermaids tears are only fairytale." She giggle still stunned.
