Prologue

I walked over to the window, breathing in the fresh air as i looked over across the clear, blue lake. The rolling hills in the background bringing me tranquility from just one glance. I opened the double doors that led onto my balcony and sat on the stony ledge. I laid my head back against the cool rock and let out a sigh.
Starting tomorrow i would have to give this all up, the beautiful view, my luxurious apartment and all of the wonderful people i have met so far just because 4 idiots couldn't keep their thoughts to themselves.

This was meant to be my year off but instead i had to be the body guard to 4 of the most obnoxious boys on the planet. I didn't even know anything about them apart from my boss telling me they were on their way to becoming the biggest band in the world, i already have a picture of how my days will go. I was not looking forward to this. So for now i was going to enjoy every last minute of my supposed holiday and not count down the hours until i have to meet my assignment for the next year!

*alarm clock ringing repetitively*

I didn't want to get up, getting up would mean that i would actually have to start getting ready for the worst day of my life, why would i want to go babysit four immature pricks? The answer is that i don't.
I maneuvered my way out from under the covers and slowly sauntered to the shower. I let the hot water run over my body for a few minutes before washing my shoulder length blonde hair and stepping onto the floor.
Just as I was reaching for a towel i heard a knock on the front door. I sighed and scrambled into a pair of sweats and a crop top then rushed to the door.
I opened it to discover a gathering of people standing on my door step; at a second glance i soon realized that these were the few people i actually cared about; my mum, older brother, boyfriend and my best friend Mia.

"MAYA" They all chorused

"Mum! Levi! Elliot! Mia! What are you all doing here?" I asked, surprised.

"Well we came to wish you goodbye of course" Mia said as she pulled me into a bone-crushing hug.

"Aw that's really sweet and all but i still have to get changed and pack!"

"No worries hunny, we can always help you to speed up the process we just wanted to say bye before you left. What time is your flight again?" My mum questioned

"Thank you all" I smiled at their generosity " My flight doesn't leave until 4pm so i guess i have a while"

"Excellent, that's enough time for us to pack and take you out to brunch" My mum stated and with that she, Mia and Levi all clambered up the stairs to start packing for me. I looked around and smiled when i realized the reason why everyone had so swiftly departed.

"Hello beautiful" He whispered, pulling me closer to him, sending shivers down my spine.

"I missed you" I whispered back, as he leant down caressing my cheeks. I looked into his brown eyes, slowly leaning forward. Our lips met, moving in sync with each others. I relaxed at the familiar sensation running through my body.

"Once you guys have finished exchanging saliva do you think you would be able to help pack for your trip Maya?" I heard my brother call from the top of the stairs. Elliot and I broke apart abruptly, with me blushing furiously while Elliot just smirked down at me.

"I missed you too" He murmured as i pulled away from him and  we both began walking up the stairs to help pack.

* Flight 345 now ready for boarding*i heard the announcement state over the intercom

"Well i guess this is good bye" I said, feeling my eyes starting to well up.

"Aw sweety, don't cry we will see you very soon" My mum reassured me but i know this was a lie as i had been told i wasn't allowed a break until next september, so a whole year away.

"Yeah don't worry Mays, we will try to visit as often as possible and i will make sure to be ready to kick Elliot's ass if he gets up to any cheeky business" Levi dead panned.

"But I won't of course" Elliot replied hastily leaning down for one last goodbye.

"Try not to let your beauty swoon any unsuspecting Aussie boys okay?" said Mia with a sad laugh, "Im gonna miss you."

"And I you, young fair maiden" I joked, trying to lighten the mood.

"And remember i packed your matching lingerie just in case" She whispered in my ear

"You did not!" I laughed

"But she definitely won't be needing that will you babe?" Elliot growled

"Of course baby" I smirked back. " So now i guess this is when i bid you all farewell and promise to call and facetime as often as i can" i called as they all nodded and smile sadly.

So with that i turned around and slowly wheeled my luggage towards the friendly air hostess. Just before i reached her i turned around and waved to my family and friends. This is it i thought, the year that is going to make you or break you and with that i quickly took my tickets back from the woman and clambered onto the plane.
