"What was your nickname?" I asked without hesitation."My nickname?. . . Ummm its was?. . ." He thought for a moment.
"Mayo" We finally said in unision.
He looked up at me, not sure of what to do or say. We looked at eachother for what seemed like eterinity. He finally broke the silence and looked down "You remember?" He then looked back up at me, smiling.
"I had ome sort of flashback, of two little kids playing cards."
"We always used to play on my back deck."
"You put your cards down and said 'I win jelly-bean'"
"I always did and then was always losing. You would put down your cards just after i would put mine downing i was winning."
I was wearing a massively stupid looking grin on my face, noticing that he had the same grinon his face.
"So id this enough for you to give me a chance?"
All I got to do was nodd as before I could answer with words. Because it was at that moment mason choose to pick me up and spin me around. we were both laghing as he put me down, but our moment was quickly intrupted by Rosie. She was carrying a tray which seemed to hold sandwhiches and two glassing of what looked like lemonade. She smiled at us both and said
"Well I see you like the rose garden Jane." We both smiled at her. After she put the tray on to the table, Rosie said she had things to do and would leave us to talk over lunch. Mason was the first to start eating, giving me that little dose of reassurence that there was nothing in the food o that he wasnt going to hurt me. . . Yet. "Can I ask you a question?!" I blurted out. He looked at me for a moment the he nodded. "Of course."
