As Demi left the building the realisation of what she had done hit her, and it hit her hard. How was she going to pay her bills now her job was the only reliable source of income her boyfriend worked but rarely and right now he was in-between jobs. He would be so angry when he found out that she had quit. her job brought in so much money. Money that they needed. It was enough for the bills and it was enough to pay for his addiction to alcohol it was perfect the money side of things anyway. Then she was home and she could see that he was in she could hear the music pounding through the house it was vibrating she could feel it on her feel as it sent tremors through the ground. He was drunk. In short. Demi walked up to the door pushing her key into the lock and turning but she was scared as to what she'd find inside.

As soon as she was inside her boyfriend flew through the kitchen door and engulfed her into a hug. She wrapped her arms around him loosely. Then he backed up and smiled at her but as he breathed down on her she could smell the alcohol on his breath. But she smiled back at him. she looked into his brown eyes and the memories of how they met and how they fell in love came rushing back to her. For a second she started to believe that he was back but then he spoke. "why are you home?" and the smell of alcohol knocked the hope right out of her.

"I quit" Demi said walking past him and into the kitchen going to the cooker going to make herself some lunch.

"you what?" he said while walking into the room Demi could hear the anger in his voice and knew that she should proceed with caution.

"I got into an argument with the boss because he spilt coffee on me and he was rude about it but don't worry I'll find a new job as soon as possible. It won't be that hard because of my work experience." As she said this he had made his way around the kitchen towards her and was now standing right behind her.

"and you think its okay, to just quit when we have bills to pay! Do you?" as he said this his voice rose and he had forced her to turn around. To face him. Demi was reluctant to answer when he grabbed her face and forced her to look at him. "do you! We have bills to pay!" Demi then made the mistake of talking back to him.

"you are not exactly contributing to our income are you!" then Demi didn't see the hand coming towards her before it was to late to move. And the hand had made physical contact with Demi's face.

She heard someone gasp and a hand fly to caress her face but it was only once he was gone that she realised this is was him that had hit her it was her that had gasped and it was her hand that now rested on her cheek. Tears brimmed in her eyes and she looked up to the door way where he had just disappeared. She let herself fall to the floor and she sat there one hand on her cheek and her body flopped. She didn't know how long she sat there but she was disturbed by him. She just wanted to sit alone. No thought, no violence, no shouting. No anything just her. But he came and tapped her on the shoulder in one hand he held a glass of water. And the other was rested on her shoulder. As soon as she came to this realisation she jumped away from him and backed into a corner of the room her eyes wild and her breathing heavy. He just looking at Demi with sad eyes. Then he moved towards her she tried to move away but she couldn't then she burst into tears and tried to push him away. Not letting him touch her. "don't touch me! Stay away! Please! Please...." she said as her voice faded as he finally got to hold her he pressed her against his chest and just held her while she sobbed. Uttering apologies in her ear and kissing her head. "I'm-" kiss "-so-" kiss "-sorry-" kiss "it will never happen again. I'll stop drinking I promise it will never happen again. Never. Please stop crying baby. Please." then she felt him head come to sit on hers his Chin resting against her head and she for once didn't feel safe in his arms. They no longer provided the warmth and safety they once had. They felt too hot and heavy on her. She wanted to pull away. And she did.

"I can't do this anymore, I can't. I CAN'T! NOT ANYMORE! WE CAN'T GO ON LIKE THIS" and with that Demi jumped to her feet tears streaming down her face and bluring her vision "DEMI! DON'T LEAVE ME! I NEED YOU!" He shouted as he jumped up and ran after her she had just made it to the door when he caught her wrist and pulled her towards him with it. Now he was crying to. "Demi please I need you don't go I can change!" he sounded desperate and it hurt Demi. "no you can't I've given you enough chances!" Demi said as she ripped her wrist from his grasp and ran up the stairs and into their bedroom pulling out a suit case and filling it with her stuff as she ran around the room trying to gather all her stuff. "what are you doing" came from the door way. "packing" was her reply and not once did she pause to look at him. "why! Stay with me I need you! Please don't go! I love you" his reply stopped her. She zipped her case up and turned to face him her face clam. "you don't love me, you are simply with me for convenience. You are not the boy I fell in love with you've changed I've waited so long for him to come back but you've taken his place a violent drunk. I don't want that. I have to go I'm not good for you I can't help you" throughout her speech she had been moving towards him and now she was right in front of him she brough her hand up to his face and placed it on his cheek searching his face.

"please, please Demi I'm still him. I'm Joe I'm still the boy you fell in love with. Please."
