Star's Dream Part Two- Star vs. The Forces Of Military

All Or Nothing Pt. 2

Not knowing where to go, they had to free the engineer to ask him for their parents location. After the engineer told them, they thanked him and locked him back into the crate. Turns out their parents were in the same building as the wand.

They slowly made their way back to the window they planned to saw through but suddenly Marco pulled Star behind the pile of boxes near the fence.

"What?"

"Looks like someone found out the hole we made" Marco pointed.

Star peeked around the boxes and saw a guard standing in front of the hole.

Guard heard the whispering and turned around, noticing Star.

 Knowing that he wouldn't have enough time to radio for backup, he opened fire and attracted the attention of every person in the base before Marco knocked him out.

 The guards at the interrogation room heard the gunshots, checked the interrogation room, only to find the staff in there dead. Their suspicions were correct, no wonder there was 10 minutes of silence.

The guards in the watchtower shone the spotlight in the direction of the gunfire and noticed the duo.

"Forget about the saw, we gotta run!" Marco exclaimed as he grabbed the gun and they dashed for the door into the building.

Marco shot the guards guarding the door and they entered the building. But without a plan, they ran around the building aimlessly hoping to find something. By then, the alarm went off and the General was alerted.

 "What? How? This is impossible, arghhh you know what, alert me when Star is nearing the wand, by then there's no hope. For now, send in everything we got and ask the new Sergeant Major to meet me in the command room."

After running for some time, Star and Marco could hear pleading coming from the room next to them.

"Hello, anyone there, get us out!" Star recognized the voice and gasped, she ran towards the door and replied "Dad! It's okay, me and Marco are here, we're going to break you out."

Marco realised that he left the pin back at the interrogation room, "Star! I left the pin in the interrogation room!"

"It's okay, let me just take another one from my hair for you."

After Marco unlocked the door, they observed the room and saw the King standing at the doorway while Marco's parents sitting together on the bottom bunk of one of the bunk beds and the Queen was grooming herself at the dresser table.

Their parents were taken aback by Marco's appearance.

"Oh my gosh, Marco does it hurt?" Mrs Diaz asked.

"Nope, the need to not get shot is numbing the pain."

"Quick, we need to get the wand, luckily we know this place quite well. We have spent all of our time in this building ever since we entered the base. Follow me, but be careful, there's a lot of guards at where we're going." The King commanded as he led them to the gate.

 It was easy for the military to track the movement of the families with the large amount of cameras in the building. The military also prepared to defend the first gate leading to the wand as the families stopped near the gate.

"The wand is located past that gate, we don't know much beyond there but there's a ceiling-mounted turret guarding the gate."

The gate was a short and wide corridor with two blast doors blocking off the other half of the room and in front of it was fortifications like sandbags and the turret.

While they were planning behind a wall, a squad of soldiers stumbled across them while heading to the gate.

With the new weaponry they acquired from the unluckily squad and Mr Diaz's knowledge about them as he was a veteran, he gave everyone a short lesson on how to operate a gun. Mr Diaz was a sharpshooter while he was in the military, he shot a couple of bullets to destroy the camera on the turret, denying visual feed to the operator.

 The military had severely underestimated the duo's parents, slacking security at their bunker and focusing more to contain Star and Marco.

The infantry guarding the gate were quickly overrun, because the fighting happened in the building, only infantry could fight while the military vehicles waited outside. As they grabbed better military gear from the guards at the previous gate, the next 2 gates fell faster with barely any units guarding the last gate.

"Wow 4 gates protecting the wand?!" Marco was astonished. 

 As they went past the last gate guarding the wand, the building started to shake. They could hear the sounds of projectiles impacting against the concrete wall of the building and exploding.

They were bombarding the building it hopes that it would collapse and crush the families. 

"They are trying to level the building! Quick get the wand!" However, the wand was enclosed in a thick transparent glass welded to a metal block sticking out of the ground below it.

"There's no way we're going to get the wand, we need explosives!" Marco declared looking at the containment of the wand. Another artillery shell hit the building and a piece of debris landed on the glass and shattering it.

 "Never mind"

"What? The glass shattered? This is insane! Thanks for reporting, you should head to the blast shelter now." The General stated as he and the Sergeant Major prepared to activate the nuke.

 With the wand in Star's hand, they were even more unstoppable however the wand still couldn't stop a nuke from detonating.

As they raced to the front doors of the building, the bombardment stopped and the PA system in the base announced

 "We are detonating the Alpha warheads in T-minus 90 seconds, all personnel are advised to board the nearest helicopter or enter the nearest blast shelter immediately." and the nuclear alarm siren went off.
