Star's Dream Part Two- Star vs. The Forces Of Military

All Or Nothing Final

Sorry it took so long, I was busy then there was the Steam sales then there was Christmas then there was a lot of spending. Too many games, too little time. ;)

"Quick, we need to get outta here!" Marco exclaimed.

"Where?"

"I don't know! The engineer probably does!" Marco guided everyone to the engineer locked in the crate.

On the way, Star had a burning question to ask, "Wait Marco, what's an Alpha warhead? I remember the engineer talking about it just now but I couldn't care what he meant and it seems like its important now."

"Oh it's a weapon that explode and destroy the entire base, if not, it could destroy the town too. It's like your turbo nuclear butterfly blast but much bigger."

They arrived at the crate shortly after.

"Marco! What are we doing here? We need to get away from here as soon as possible!" The parents stated.

"Relax, I bet the engineer knows where the blast shelters are at, it will protect us."

With the wand, removing the lid was a piece of cake. The moment the lid fell to the ground, the engineer saw his captors towering over him for the third time and became distressed by their appearance.

"All right, let's make a deal. You lead us to the blast shelter and you'll get to live and we won't hurt you. If not, we have to kill you on the spot." Marco beckoned Star to point her wand at him threateningly.

The engineer had no choice but to agree. As the engineer was escorting the families, another PA announcement echoed throughout the facility.

 "Alert, 45 seconds to detonation. All helicopters have already left the facility, please head to the nearest blast shelter immediately. All guards stationed at the shelters are to ensure the targets nicked 'duo' do not enter."

Soon, everyone were going down a flight of stairs and at the bottom the blast shelter was visible at the other end of the corridor. However, the guards could see them too. Completing his end of the deal, the engineer ran for the entrance while the guards prepared to hold off the families even if it costs their lives. Sadly, they were no match and the path to the shelter was clear within seconds.

"Alert! 15 seconds to detonation. Closing entrances to all blast shelters now."

"We need to make a break for the shelter, let's go!" As they were running for the shelter, Marco felt he had seen this place before. The same empty corridor, the same absent of military and ground shaking, the same door they were running to and the same piece of debris falling on Star! Marco gasped, not happening this time!

He lunged forward at Star and pushed her causing the debris to miss her but land on Marco. Star turned around after she felt the push and saw Marco pinned.

Her parents were not willing to take the risk of losing Star and denied her to save Marco so they grabbed and pushed her into the shelter before she could react. Mr and Mrs Diaz knew that without Star's magic, trying to help Marco would get them killed too and had no choice but to leave him.

Star and their parents stood behind the door to catch the last glimpse of Marco before the door closed.

BOOOOMMM!!!

The entire shelter shook vigorously and stopped shortly after. The sound of sobbing echoed throughout the room, Star was kneeling a corner facing the wall. The Queen and King realised what they had done to Star and tried to reason their actions. Star's sobbing slowly stopped and only sniffing could be heard

After waiting for a while, the room was silent again.

"Marco's still out there, maybe we can still find him. We need to go now! Please help me!" Star commanded her parents to help her search.

"But, Star..." the king wanted to object but was taken aback when she turned around.

Star's hearts were glowing, not blushing but glowing a bright crimson-red and her eyes, instead of her usual blue iris it had became bright red. Never seeing this side of Star before, they gave in to play safe to not enrage her further. 

They weren't the only ones in the shelter, the other occupants in the shelter also noticed their presence and agreed to follow their every command in order to live. While wearing the radiation suits, Mrs Diaz pressed the emergency button to open the door that shielded them from the radiation. Instead of the stairway leading to the shelter, there was a huge crater in front of them.

Most of the base was gone including Marco, it would be pointless to search for Marco now as he had vapourized along with the base. They needed to convince Star to give up but it looked like Star knew it would be pointless too.

Star felt a burning rage in her heart and before anyone could stop her, Star dashed off in the direction of the other blast shelters. The only way to avenge Marco now, was to kill the person behind it all and responsible for Marco's death, the new General.

An entire division was barely enough to defeat Star and Marco, so the remaining local forces barely put up a fight against Star. After a while of searching, Star finally found the General. The General was at the mercy of Star and without hesitation she casted a spell which cause the General to die the most painful, excruciating death possible.

Despite her knowing that searching for Marco was pointless, she did it anyways.

For the next hour, Star was rummaging around the crater. The slightest sign of Marco's remains would ease her mind. But it was clear nothing would be found after another hour of searching. Star soon finally accepted fate and started to sob again, but a shiny object on a ground caught her eye, it was Marco's promise ring!

It had miraculously survived the blast! 

Devastated, Star took out her promise ring from her pocket and combined them together, the metalworks on both rings and the gem formed a bright red heart with little metal stars surrounding it when pressed against each other. This was the thing Marco showed her the day after the school dance. Star stared at the rings, the only object left to remember Marco with.

"No, it can't be. No it can't be happening. There has to be a way to revive Marco.... there has to."
