"What?!"
"You kissed him."
"N-no I didn't,"
"Yea you did, Emma told me."
"When?!"
"When you went to visit your boyfriend. She said you kissed him."
I was speechless.
What do I do now...
"...No," I said awkwardly.
"No it's totally alright, I mean you cheated on me or whatever, but I didn't even remember you in the first place so."
"No, Troye, it's not alright. I, I just...he's dying, and he wanted me to kiss him and..."
"No, love, it's hard, I know. One of the things I remember from before the accident."
"Look, Troye, I am so sorry,"
"I told you, it's alright." He stood up and held out his hand for me to take it.
"C'mon, lets go somewhere,"
"But..."
"I don't care, you did stay with me for years and I couldn't even talk to you. You may of cheated on me, but you were still there when I woke up, weren't you?"
"Thanks, I promise, it won't happen again."
I stood up and hugged him.
I missed this-hugging him, his embrace.
He was always so comforting.
He really made me feel at ease sometimes.
I loved him.
I still do.
But he doesn't love me back like he used to.
And he probably never will.
We walked down the street and ended up going into a little food place.
We sat sitting across from each other at a small table and we looked at our menus.
I'd already been here before so I knew what I was getting.
Troye on the other hand took like ten minutes to find something before he asked "Hey, what did I usually get here?"
I laughed and told him.
We sat talking about old times and he told me some childhood story's I have heard a million times before.
I missed our little talks though.
When we were done our food, we walked around the block for a while. I showed him some of the favorite places we used to go.
We ended up in the park.
We used to visit this place all the time.
We sat down on a bench and watched the kids play on the swings and have fun.
"You know Troye, you brought me here on our first date a few years ago."
"Yea?"
"Yea, it's almost like we're reliving the moment. We sat at this exact bench, too."
"Okay, then let's relive this moment. Maybe it will bring back a few memories. What happened?"
"We just talked. You told me about your life, and I told you about mine."
"How long were we here?"
"Hours. We showed up around this time and left when it was getting late."
"Sounds nice."
"It was."
"We must've really loved each other, didn't we?"
"Yea. I know I loved you for the most part."
"So is that all? We came here then left? Fun. Tell me some other things about...us. When did we move in together, when did we meet each other's family's, when was out first kiss?"
"You moved in two years after we started dating, we met each others family's only a few months after we started dating, and we first kissed...on our first date."
"Wait, so you're telling me that we kissed on our first date right?"
"Yes."
"Well, are we not reliving our first date right now?"
"I think we are, yea."
"Well, you know what that means."
He then leaned in a little bit closer, seconds passed and he was still slowly leaning in.
As anxious as I was for him to kiss me again, I waited.
Then finally, he kissed me.
It wasn't short, but it wasn't long.
Now this was exactly how our first date went.
