."I'm not afraid, to take a stand. Everybody, come take my hand...". Adrian slapped her phone to make her custom alarm shut up. She glanced at the time and sighed happily. Nothing like waking up at 7:00 a.m. on a beautiful Monday morning.
She threw a fuzzy pillow at Jessica. Jessica didn't even budge. Rolling her eyes, she went to the bathroom. After washing her face and brushing her hair, she filled a cup up Listerine mouthwash. She padded over to her sleeping sister and non hestitantly poured the mouthwash on her sister's face. Jessica shot awake, thrashing and cursing. "Morning!" Adrian shouted.
Jessica raised an eyebrow. "Morning? I don't wake up till at least 11:00, thankyouverymuch."
Adrian rolled her eyes. "Well, at my house, you do. Come on, pull on your robe! Let's get breakfast...how does a bacon sandwhich sound?"
"Bacon sandwhich?"
"It's bread, bacon, bacon, and topped with bread!" Adrian said excitedly.
"Uh- no thanks." Jessica pulled on her terry cloth robe and walked down stairs. Everything here was store brand. She had no idea what to eat.
Her sister started throwing together that nasty sandwhich, a Coke, and about six candy bars. Jessica shuddered. She just settled for coffee.
"All you're having is coffee?" Her sister asked.
"Uh- yeah. A lot of this other stuff is too high in calories."
Adrian rolled her eyes. Drama whore. If she wanted attention, she would certainly get it.
"Good morning my beautiful daughters!" Their mother walked into the kitched wearing a chic, slim suit and holding a briefcase. She grabbed a NutriGrain bar, but stopped to look at Jessica. "Jess, what time did you get home last night?"
"Midnight" Jessica responded the same time Adrian said "Three."
"Honey, if you were with your friends, you should at least call me and tell me where you are! And besides, I thought you and your sister were supposed to be bonding!"
"Jessica yelled at me and stayed at Waffle House until two in the morning." Adrian stated as-a-matter-of-factly.
"What?! Why?" Ms. Evans asked worridly.
"Because Adrian decided to embarrass me in front of the whole mall." Jessica stated, also as-a-matter-of-factly.
"Jessica's bulimic."
"Adrian is an embarrasment."
"Jessica's a bitch."
"Adrian has never been kissed."
"Jessica-"
"Girls, PLEASE! Behave! I'll get the full story tonight, because I'm running really late. But you two- bond, love and behave. I have to go." She blew the both of them kisses and ran out the door.
Jessica glared at Adrian. "Why did you tell her all those secrets?!"
Adrian shot her a sarcastic grin. "Because you were mean to me. I don't be nice to bitches."
"How am I mean? All I've ever done was try to make you cool!"
"Jessica, have you ever considered I don't want to be 'cool'? I just want to be myself...and if I'm not 'cool', well I'm okay with that."
"But you're so embarrassing to be with!"
"Maybe I am. Too you. But I'm not looking for anyone's approval. So I could care less." Adrian smirked.
Beep. Jessica glanced down, her poor iPhone was struggling to get a bar. Her dad was trying to call her. She wandered off near the front door and answered her phone.
