Matthew's POV
When I decided to call up Noah for advice, him being the dramatic guy he is, insisted on Face Timing, claiming that he hadn't seen me for so long that he had forgotten what I'd looked like.He may be dramatic, but if anyone could solve anything quickly and quietly, he could. I knew that I could count on him to help me and figure this whole thing out. Plus, he had mad hacker skills. Just like in the movies.
"Buddy! Mi amigo! Pal! Matty Boy! Matthew! Dude! My Brother from another mother! How are you!" Noah exclaimed with enthusiasm that could overpower a cheerleader.
Wasn't sure if he needed medication for something like that or not. "I'm good dude. How's everything back home? Still good without me?" I started casually.
I couldn't just throw in that somebody's stalking me and might be out to get me. I mean, I guess I could but I'd rather not scare him to the point he would buy an airplane ticket and fly down here to try and save me.
Yeah, Noah was one of those friends. "Still sucks not having you here. But, it's been okay."
"Anyways the reason I called....." I started. Noah eyes widened with fake hurt. "You didn't call because you missed me?"
"It serious business." That quickly changed his whole demeanor. "What is it? What happened? How bad did you screw up?"
I scowled at that last one. "I didn't do anything! Listen. There's this rumor in town. Kinda like the Loch Ness Monster stuff, but instead of a monster, it's a Organization. I think that they're after me. That is, if they exist."
He raised an eyebrow. "Like murder kinda thing or child's idea of an organization? And why the heck would anyone care enough to go after you?"
I scoffed. "I'd like to say I'm pretty important. Jerk."
He rolled his eyes. "Bitch," he mumbled back
"Anyways, it's more like government thing? Kinda like spy's? I'm not too sure, but there are so many different takes on the whole thing, it's crazy."
"Alright, but what even makes you think that they are 'after you'." He asked putting the emphasis on 'after you'.
"Got a note in my locker. Nothing threatening, just warning me that they're watching."
"Could I see the note?"
"Yeah, sure. It's in my desk" I replied as as I dug in my desk searching for that stupid little paper that had caused more trouble than it's worth.
I pulled out the little note and held it up where he could see it. He examined it for a few seconds before nodding his head.
"If the person who gave it to you is trying not to be found, they sure are doing a crap job at it."
"What are you talking about?"
"The signature indicates that they write with their left hand. It looks kind of feminine, so it's either a left-handed woman, or a left-handed guy who writes like a girl." He explained.
I then did my best to explain Blake's family history to him. "The thing is, he seemed to have no idea about anything."
"His mom you say? Maybe she's kept it a secret. I mean, if my dad blurted out that he was apart of a secret organization and became the town loon, I sure wouldn't want my kids to know about it. Especially if it got him killed. Maybe you should ask Blake."
