Matthew's POV
I was half asleep while helping repaint my mother's shop. She wanted to redo everything and make it more modern.
"Moooom!" I whined. "Can I go home now?" I was ready to drop in total and complete exhaustion.
"I told you not to stay up so late Matthew!" She scolded.
"Mom, I'm a person. And sometimes, people have a tendency to stay up late even though they're not supposed to. But that's okay, because there are people with worse problems and we can all laugh about it with the help of the Internet." I explained.
"What the hell are you talking about Matthew?" She asked, her face scrunching up with confusion.
"I'm not sure." I admitted. "I just want to sleep. My bed understands me better than most, so I should sleep."
My mom sighed in irritation. "Fine. Call your father and ask him to pick you up."
"Thank you mom!" I yelled, giving her a quick goodbye hug before I ran outside to call my dad.
He picked up after about four rings. "Oh dearest father?" I started.
He let out a sigh. "What do you want?"
"A ride home." I grinned. "So I can be done with this here and sleep."
"I'll be there in a couple of minutes." He said.
"Thanks!" I cheered.
"Yeah Yeah." He muttered before hanging up on me.
"Well then!" I huffed dramatically.
"What's got you all huffy city boy?" A voice laughed behind me.
I quickly turned to see. No one was there, in fact, there wasn't anyone around where I was.
"Up here moron." The voice chuckled.
I looked up to see Ivy sitting on the roof of my mom's store. "What? How did-?"
"Don't ask." Ivy smirked.
"Okay? Uh, Well I'm going home to sleep so......" I said awkwardly.
She rolled her eyes. "I know that idiot. I just need to get that box from you so keep your window unlocked tonight."
"That's not creepy." I muttered.
"Shut up." Ivy grumbled.
"I'll keep it unlocked." I agreed. "But I still have questions."
"Yeah, yeah. When don't you?" Ivy said with the shake of a head.
I scowled slightly. Before I could defend myself the honking of my dad's car horn went off, startling me.
I looked back to see Ivy gone. How did she do that? Like, because that would be a pretty handy trick to have.
My dad honked the car horn once again which snapped me out of my thoughts I guess that my spy lessons will have to wait until later....
I hopped in the car and my dad drove us back to the house. The first thing I did was jump into bed. I slept for a good hour or two.
