Matthew's POV
To say that I was confused and frustrated was the understatement of the century. S.K. 1 or whoever he/she was, was seriously starting to piss me off.
I didn't bother texting or calling because I knew that I'd get no response in return. I was still debating or weather or not to tell Blake, Noah, or Jake.
I figured that I'd be safest to tell Noah since he definitely wasn't working for them in secret like Blake or Jake could, but I wasn't sure if I should.
I was still a little suspicious of Blake. I couldn't fully take my guard down around him. He was the first friend I made in the town, but his family history made him a suspect.
As for Jake, he kind of reminded me of Noah, trustworthy and a total dork. He was the first to claim his belief about The Secret Keepers in front of all his friends, but it made me suspect him too. How was he SO sure that they were real?
I've gotten so paranoid.
I just sent Noah screenshots of the text messages instead of typing the whole situation out. I did NOT have the patience for it.
Sometimes I think that I'm ADHD or something. I've never had the memory to ask my mom if I could be or not.
Today was Monday. I never liked Monday's. I will never like Mondays. Monday's need to be banned in my opinion.
Going to (Mrs. Davis) Jen's classroom, I bumped into Jay. "Hey Matthew." He greeted.
"Hey Jay." I waved. "Did you do the History homework by any chance?" He questioned.
"Uh. Yeah? Why?" "Because I may or may not have forgotten to do it and I may or may not want you to give me your finished homework to copy?"
I chuckled, "Alright, but I need it by after lunch, that's when I have that class."
"You rock!" He cheered. I passed it over to him. Honestly, without copying and the Internet answers, I might've failed high school, so it's only fair that I help other out too. Right??
I gave him my answers and made it to my seat just before the bell rang.
"Kiddies!!! Great news! Principle Keller agreed to the trip to Europe! Invites will be passed out tomorrow. Anyways, pass up your homework and start on the next chapter while I try to wake myself with lots of coffee." Jan announced.
We passed up homework and pulled out our books. Everyone got done reading pretty quick so we all paired up and talked with friends.
Blake pulled his chair closer so no one could hear us. "Hey man, we gotta talk." He whispered looking nervous.
"Uh, okay?" I murmured. "What is it?" He shushed me, making me scowl. "We have to talk in private. Someone may be listening."
I nodded and did I quick glance over the room. Quietly, I slipped out of my desk and walked over to Jan's desk. "May I use the restroom?"
She looked up at me and raised an eyebrow. "Um. I'm just gonna take that as a yes." I answered my own question, slightly embarrassed and walking away.
I gave Blake a nod and walked into the hall. I couldn't just stand in the hall way waiting on him. It'd look weird and suspicious.
I made my way down the hallway probably looking stupid with me trying to be ninja-like. I obviously needed lessons because someone yanked me into the dark janitors closet and tied what I hope was a clean bandana over my face.
I was going to scream but something was shoved into my mouth. "Alright," the mysterious female voice started, "listen here Matthew. I'm risking my life here just talking to you so I've gotta make this quick. I need you to find me. You know me from the texts and notes. You have to find me. If you do, they might stop. Which is a good thing. A really good thing. Here it goes. Listen closely:
I'll give you as many clues as I can but you have to think hard.
This won't be easy and it may just leave scars.
Think back to the beginning, for it holds the key.
To this message of where you and me had the chance to meet."
