Calum's POV

It's almost midnight and my mom is still talking to people at this party. Of course there's the option to leave but I don't think my mom is sober enough to drive.. And I don't trust cabs.

I got a text from Ashton around 10:30 asking if I was still at the party, of course I was but he has to work tomorrow so he left early.

I'm outside and none of Riley's friends are around me. Well there's Scott and Mason but they're dating so they don't count.

I go inside and go towards the kitchen looking at all the food they have.

Pizza, cupcakes, burgers, hot dogs, cake, brownies, cake pops, tons of soda, and of course tons of alcohol. Who would had guessed.

I grab a slice of pizza and make myself a drink.

This place is totally empty.

I started to snoop around Riley's home and ended up in some theater room.

I saw a couch and just plopped down watching whatever I'm guessing it was her brother watching.

"You're Calum right?" I heard someone say.

"The one and only." I reply. I don't really know who it is but I'm guessing it's her brother.

"I'm Andrew, Riley's brother, well second brother. What's brings you here?" He asked introducing himself. I really wonder how many brothers Riley has.

"Riley has three brothers, don't confuse yourself now." Andrew said.

I looked at him in shock trying to figure out how he knew what I was thinking. Does he read minds?

"No, I don't read minds, just whenever I say that everyone assumes she has like 5 brothers or something." Andrew explains.

"Well that makes more sense, it's like Midnight don't mess with my head like that." I joked and got up to sit next to him.

"My mom is still talking so I'm either A, going to crash here, or B wait out my mom. She's been drinking." I told Andrew.

"You got any games? PlayStation? Xbox?" I asked. I mean clearly if I'm gonna be here. I should be doing what I would be doing at home.

"Uh hello, I'm the best gamer we got in this house, second to my dad, if he's ever home and not having bbq's." Andrew got up and disappeared into the blackness.

"What game do you want to play? I got everything don't worry." He asked.

"FIFA defiantly!" I told him.

A couple minutes later and Andrew came back with two Xbox controllers and threw one on my lap.

"Prepare to be squashed my friend." I said as we started the game.

30 minutes later, and the score is 70-65

"I told you I'd win loser." I laughed and put the controller down.

"You won by FIVE points Calum it wasn't like you won by a lot!" We both got up and went into the kitchen.

I got another slice of pizza and he got a brownie.

"I see getting your sweets in before your parents find out! Smart thinking, I remember when I use to do that, I'm almost 18 then I can do what I want.. Well I mean I already do but you get the point." I looked at the time. It was 1 in the morning.

I'm not that tired but I should probably get my mom and get going.

"Thanks for the game! I really needed it!" I said to Andrew.

"Yeah! Come over anytime, but the next time I'll squash you!" He laughed and we said goodnight.

I grabbed my moms purse and took the car keys out.

I went to the backyard and found my mom sitting on one of the chairs by the fire.

"Calum is such a nice boy with a bunch of talent. I just wish he knew that." I heard my mom say talking to her friends.

I went up to her and sat next to her.

"I think it's time to go." I said and I helped her up.

"Have you've met my son Calum? He's such a sweetheart you should meet him! He's going to help Riley bake for the event tomorrow. They're going to be such good friends" She said. Yup.

She's definitely drunk off her ass. I was so tired I didn't even want to address that fact that I have to spend another day of my summer with Riley hopefully we get this baking done fast cause I can't STAND her.

I finally got her in the car and when we got home I put her in bed.

I brushed my teeth and washed my face taking my shirt and pants off leaving me in just my boxers.

I laid down in my bed, the cold blankets wrapping around my body felt like laying in a cloud... If only I knew what it felt like.

I thought about clouds while I tried to sleep and next thing I knew I was out like a light.
