Riley's POV

"Hey dad!" Ashton wanted me to introduce him to everyone I know.. Well I asked.

"Hey sweetie!" He closed the grill and wiped his hands on his apron and grabbed his beer taking a sip.

"Who's this?" He asked.

"Oh! I'm Ashton sir, nice to meet you, Riley has told me great things about you!" Ashton said as he shook my dad's hand. I was really impressed with Ashton well... I never really talked about my dad but we won't say anything ha.

"All good things I hope?" They laughed and dad continued to the grill.

"So how long have you've known each other?" Dad asked Ashton.

That question was funny considering we'd only met that day.

"Oh, well about 4 hours? I would say?" Ashton laughed awkwardly.

"When we went to get the pizzas Calum had to get something too and Ashton was with him, so after that I went running and ran into Ashton and invited him over." I explained so it wasn't so awkward.

"Sounds complicated, but welcome, I'm John nice to meet you since Riley didn't tell you my name, you can call me Mr. Maxwell." He smiled and took a sip of his beer.

"Yes sir!" Ashton smiled and took a sip of his cup.

"Well it was great introducing yourself to my dad but we got other people to meet! Bye dad!" I smiled.

Him and Ashton shook hands and said goodbye.

"So now we can go to whoever is out here!" I smiled and looked around.

"Well... We can go to my grandparents, or my aunt and her husband and my uncle or the family friends or we can just go watch a movie or something?" I said. I didn't want it to be weird for him cause my whole family was there and some of my family friends.

"Wait, does your mom or dad know you're here?" I asked, I completely forgot that I just invited him off the streets haha.

"Oh yeah my mom knows, I let her know, I mean I'm 18 so it's all good! And it's just my mom, my sister, my brother, and I." He said and awkwardly smiled.

"Oh.. I'm sorry.. I didn't know.." I said. Now I felt bad but I didn't know of course.

"Oh! Don't be it's okay! Honesty it's all good. Umm we can do whatever you want honestly, I don't mind." He smiled and put his arm around me.

If I didn't think he's cute I would go somewhere so his arm would get off me but I like it.

"Okay, well we could just hang out and talk, get to know each other more. What time do you have to be home?"

"Oh.. Well around 10 I got work in the morning. Sorry." He said.

He looked at his phone and you could tell that it was almost time for him to leave.

"How much time do you have left?" I asked while I grabbed his arm.

"Umm... Like 20 minutes..." He said.

"Oh.. Well we should go find Calum I'm sure he'd want to hang out with you while you're here." I smiled and started walking to the other side of the backyard.

"Oh.. Yeah probably well... I mean we could just hang out." I mean I'm seeing Calum for rehearsal tomorrow." He suggested.

"Yeah that would be great!" I said.

We walked over to the fire pit and sat down on the chair.

For the rest of the twenty minutes we talked about school and how he did when he was in school. We talk about our favorite colors and animals. He asked me how school is and about my friends.
