Rose's point of view

"Rose." My eyelids flew open, and I looked around in confusion. "Rose, we're here." Mickey was sat next to me, and the car had stopped moving. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes, and yawned. It was pitch black, with no moon in the sky. The house looked the same as the last time I was here, but I was with him. I sighed at the thought, and picked up my small bag, before getting out of the car. I walked slowly towards the front door, stretching my legs. Dad stood next to me, and placed the bronze key into the lock. The door swung open, and he stepped inside, dragging two suitcases after him. I picked mine up from the porch, and took it in. Mum came in behind me, and flicked a switch on the wall, causing light to burst from one of the expensive looking chandeliers. Mickey was last in, and closed the door with his foot, placed the car keys on the sideboard, and followed my Mum and Dad into the kitchen. I smiled at them, watching as Dad put on the kettle, and Mum wrapped an arm around him. Instead of joining them, I took the suitcase upstairs, and walked down a hallway, opening the second door I walked past. Flicking on the light, I was greeted by the familiar light purple walls and dark wood furniture. I placed the suitcase in the corner, and changed into a pair of pajamas from a small chest of drawers next to my bed. The room was fairly large, and had a old looking four poster bed. I clambered underneath the covers, and pulled them right up to my chin. My eyes watered, and although I didn't feel tired, I soon fell asleep, the salty tears running onto my pillows.

The Doctor's point of view

I ran my fingers through my hair, eyes shut, thinking of what to do. The threat they could pose if I'd have given them the T.A.R.D.I.S was too big, but if I wanted her planet to survive, I had to. I knew that it was only a matter around six billion years until the planet was dead anyway, so what did I care? I shook the thought from my head, remembering the promise I made to myself a long time ago; that I would never cause the death of an innocent race, or a planet. The T.A.R.D.I.S made a loud whirring noise. As I walked over to the monitor, I saw a scan of earth, with several red dots bleeping at random points. My eyes skimmed the data next to it, and I sighed with relief. A small smile played across my lips, only momentarily, before I rushed around the console, the same frantic rush as usual. I pulled a lever, and stared at the green light rising to the ceiling. Turning around, I saw a dark figure facing the doors. They turned to see me, a look of terror in their eyes.

"Don't try and fool me, I know what you are. Your time on this planet is over." The facade of fear and shock fell from their face, and was replaced with a smirk. He ran towards the doors, but before he could open them and escape, I had pulled out my sonic, and locked the doors. He tried twisting the latch, but came to no avail. "Yup, that's not gonna do you any good. Only registers to me." I placed the sonic back in my jacket, and turned and pressed a button on the console. "Oh, and by the way, I wouldn't try to go anywhere if I was you. I used an incredibly strong magnetic force on the bottom of your shoes. Metal plates are never a good idea." I turned a dial and looked at the monitor again. "One down, six to go." I muttered to myself.

Rose's point of view

Sunlight streamed in through the open curtains, and the last remains of the wonderful dream I was having vanished. I brought my hands up from underneath the duvet, and rolled over. Moving a strand of hair from my face, I noticed the scarlet stain on my hand, and sat up quickly. I threw back the covers, and screamed. My whole body shook, and I just sat in shock. Mum came rushing in, and immediately noticed. She took my hand, and helped me up. As we walked out into the hallway, Dad came bustling out of his room. He said nothing, but stood on my other side, and helped me to the bathroom. As I sat down on the edge of the bath, Dad closed the door, giving me and mum privacy. She pulled the blood stained bottoms from my legs. Everything felt numb. She turned away, and threw the bottoms in a carrier bag. Out of nowhere, an immense shooting pain spread through my stomach and chest. My cries echoed around the white tiled room, and my mother gripped hold of my arms, keeping me steady. Placing the lid down on the toilet, she helped me move from one to the other.

"Shhhhh, hey. It's going to be alright." She was searching frantically through the cupboards, looking for something.

"How do you know that mum?" I sobbed. "What if I've lost the baby?"

"You don't know that sweetheart! You don't know what it could be, this isn't a normal child is it?" I shook my head. Another wave of agony washed over my insides, and more tears fell. "Here." she said, holding out a white stick to me. I held it in my palms, realizing what it was, then looked at my mother. "Take the pregnancy test now. Depending on the results, we'll take you to the hospital. We can't take you now, because god knows what the nurses reactions will be when they realize that this baby has two hearts or two heads." She gave me a sad smile. I cautiously stood up, lifted the toilet seat, and took the test. Mum helped me into bed again, and her and Dad sat with me, waiting for the results. The beeping of Mum's timer filled the room, and she picked up the stick, and handed it to me. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to build up the courage to look. Dad kissed my forehead, and Mum rubbed my arm. My eyelids crept open, and I turned the stick over in my hands. The tiny blue plus stared back at me, and I let out a massive sigh of relief.

"It's- It's positive." I let out a shaky breath, and smiled at them.

"Oh thank god!" Mum pulled me into a hug. "I'm just going downstairs quick love." She pulled away, and I instantly missed her warmth. After she darted out of the room, I leaned against my Dad, and he wrapped his arm around me.

"You feeling alright love?"

"Just a bit overwhelmed with everything if I'm honest. There's so much going through my head right now." I played with a loose thread on my duvet.

"I'll bet there is. If you ever need to, y'know, talk or anything, I want you to know that I'm here." I looked at him. In all of this, I'd forgotten that he'd had so much to get used to, going from being successful business man, to a widower, to becoming a father and a husband again in such a short amount of time. I wrapped my arms around him, and mumbled an "I love you." into his chest.
"I love you too." He stroked my hair, and I felt the tiredness pull me back in.

I closed my eyes, and when I opened them again, the digital clock next to me had flown forwards several hours. It was now mid-afternoon. Someone was playing with my hair, and as I rolled over, I saw my Dad, still sat next to me. I pushed myself up, an ache in my palm. Looking down, I saw that I was still holding the test, and I gave the blue plus one last look, before placing it on the side table...
