~A Ball?~
Dear Diary,
The trip to the Collins' ended well. I am glad I came with Lizzy, because it helped me come to my senses....... realizing that I did not actually have an attachment to Mr. Collins. This meeting has helped me become stronger, and less naive, finding myself to be so when I fell for him. I shall never fall for another man, I believe. Or at least I shall try not to.
Charlotte invited myself and Lizzy to attend a ball which shall be hosted at Lady Catherine DeBourgh's mansion in a fortnight, enough time for us to prepare for such an event. Though I prefer observing the fine art of dance, rather than participating, I still was quite beside myself, in a delighted sort of way. Lizzy wishes to take me to town, and attempt to succeed at what Mama failed at. I am sorry this is a short entry, but perhaps more will happen at the fateful gala?
