They stopped at a store to buy supplies for Link's wounds, and a few more changes of clothes... and she wasn't sure why, but Link had also insisted to her that she buy them food that would last awhile. She bought Link a backpack and when she got back to the car with the cart, Link helped her pack their separate bags full of what they would need. Zelda took an additional satchel filled with the medicine and bandages and cleaning rags.

They drove close to the border and then rolled the the car in a lake; which hadn't been as difficult as she had anticipated. Link had already taken everything useful he could find in the car and put it in his backpack. He was still wearing his bloody clothes though...he probably wanted to wait until the bandages were in place so his new clothes wouldn't get bloodied as well.

They walked the rest of the way to the border, Link limping along a small bit behind her, but he refused her help when she offered it.

"I'm fine," he'd said.

When they reached the border she had been surprised by its lack of security. Zelda wasn't sure what she had expected; armed guards at every foot of the towering wall? Well, what she met was certainly not that. It was a rather large wall, but there was no one around, not even cameras.

It did look rather impassable but she was sure it wasn't too thick to teleport through. It was well known by Zelda that should could teleport other things besides herself. Otherwise... It would be rather awkward if her clothes stayed put and she went. So she understood now how Link wanted to get them through.

"Are you ready?" Link asked.

Zelda shifted from foot to foot. "I don't know. I've never left Hyrule before but... We do have to get away." Just saying the word we made her incredibly happy. She wasn't alone anymore. She smiled slightly and then nodded. "I'm ready," she said as she walked towards the wall and then paused. "So, you think they'll find us?"

"I think they'll know we left and possibly crossed the border; from the GPS tracker on their car. Though I doubt they'll know where we're going."

Zelda nodded slowly. "It's all so... Different. Before, I could never leave my home... And now it feels like I'll never be able to go back," she scuffed her foot against the grass with her hands in her pockets.

"Do you miss your parents?" Link asked as he walked over to her.

"No... Not really. I've been away from them for longer than this. They always leave, but... I know they're probably freaking out that their Princess is gone. After all, I'm the one who has to continue the line," she began. "Kinda hard to do if I'm dead, or on the run."

Link smiled slightly. "Well, you're still only eighteen. You should have a long life left ahead of you."

Zelda turned to look at him. "Only if Maldus doesn't catch me," she paused and then looked at him. "You still seventeen?"

"No, turned eighteen last month."

Zelda blinked a few times and blurted, "happy late birthday." Then she became embarrassed and she looked away.

"Thank you," Link said with a laugh. "Now we should probably go, or we'll be caught by border patrol. They were probably tipped off by Maldus by now."

Zelda nodded, though still amazed at how Maldus had such far reaching influence... Even so far as the border. Well, money probably had a lot to do with that. "Kay, I'm... ready to try," she said as she shouldered her pack and then twirled. She teleported easily to the other side despite the extra weight. She set it down and then went back for Link's pack.

When Zelda returned for him he grasped hold of her from behind, holding her just above the waist so he wouldn't obstruct her arms.

"Alright, turn right in one, two, three!" She twirled on the spot; it felt so much different then when she was alone. Bad, and yet good. Probably bad for teleporting, but good in the fact that someone's arms were around her.
