Scene VII (Chapter 7)

                                                                                                      LUKE

       "Luke, give it to me!" Ashton yelled. "I'm so f*cking wet, give it to me now!"

       Ashton could scream all he wanted but Luke was keeping the umbrella all to himself. It was just another rainy Monday where Ashton and Luke were walking to school. Ashton didn't get a ride with Calum and Michael because he wanted to go early and Jack was using Luke's car while his own car was being repaired. So they had to walk to school.

        When they arrived at school Ashton went to the bathroom to dry off and Luke went to the library. It was always so quiet in the library you could hear a needle drop unless Rene was there, then you can hear her either making out with Luke or the faint clicks of her typing on her phone. Luke walked into the library and immediately went to the young adults section. He grabbed a random book, sat down, and started reading. That was just Luke's system when ever he has the time he just goes to the library and reads a random book. A few minutes into reading and he heard a voice behind him whisper, "Oh, sexy and smart!" Luke turned around to see Rene, a different looking Rene, he just couldn't tell what was different about her.

        "Rene, baby I missed you," Luke whispered with fake joy, "Something about you is different."

        "Really? Oh, nothing is different at all, except that I got a boob job and new clothes."

       Luke felt a little dead inside after what he just heard.

       "Yay more booby!" he whispered awkwardly.

        "Yup. More fun for us sometime soon."

        "Wait weren't you in juvey? How did you get a boob job and new clothes?"

       "My dad felt bad for me after he bailed me out so he took me shopping."

        'Oh boy,' Luke thought. After that, extremely awkward conversation Luke just continued reading while Rene sat in his lap on her phone.

       "Rene Rivers! No phones in my library!" the librarian whisper shouted at Rene which made Luke flinch a little. She put her phone in her tribal print backpack started playing with her nails as Luke read. Luke was really deep into the book he was reading. It was about a girl with lung cancer. Rene got bored after a few minutes and whispered in Luke's ear, "I'm gonna leave, so I'll see you in English."

      When she walked away Luke saw Ashton looking for books. Ashton seemed lost on what to read so Luke stood up and walked over to Ashton just to whisper to him, "you should read The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton." Ashton searched for the book and just as he found it the first-period bell rang. The short dirty blonde boy and the tall blonde boy both went to check out their books and then went to class.

      First period English which meant they had to work in their groups. They already finished part one of their project and now came part 2, a character analysis thingy. The English teacher assigned them each a character to study (traits, personality, and all that jazz) then make a poster about them. Rene, Ivy, Luke, and Ashton's group got Jessie which is the main character, Elizabeth's best friend.

    Nobody was actually working on the project. Rene was on her phone, Ashton was reading, Ivy was listening to music, and Luke was reading. Until Luke actually decided that he should work to get a good grade and graduate and go to college and get a job as an actor. A few minutes after Ashton joined and Ivy too while Rene sat on her lazy a$$. Eventually, Ashton got Rene to join in by telling her that if she doesn't get good grades she will have a bad future with no iPhone 11. She took that seriously because she wanted all the iPhones. Selfish girl.
