Chapter 11

Dan smiles and runs upstairs to grab a laptop to show his father my pictures. Dan had a cheeky smile across his face. Rose and Scarlett have the same smile across in the same way. Dan runs back down a few minutes later with a silver laptop in his hands. He sets it up on a small table in the foyer.

Dan clicks on my website opening the recent uploads. "I really like this one." He clicks on a picture of some kids I meet in Cambodia. The children were adorable. They were super sweet and excited about me visiting. They literally had nothing but were the happiest children I ever meet. I went there to take photos for a group who were advertising for out of high school to come and do a gap year with them helping volunteer building school rooms and teach the children basic English.

"I spent a few weeks with them. They were really sweet and inviting. I had a place to stay originally but then one of the families took me into their small home. They made me food and cleaned my clothes. But every time I offered to help they told me to relax, that I'm 'their guest'. That's the daughter and they have a son who was in front of us." I point to a small child who is running through mud flats with a lotus flower in her hand. She has one of the cutest smiles I had ever seen.

"Aww she's gorgeous." Rose and Scarlett sigh at the same thing. Must be a twin thing.

"She is really cute." Dan says to me with a sweet smile.

"I agree. She is very sweet." Dan's father says smiling at the screen. "Your work is wonderful. Some of the best I have ever seen." Neville turns his eyes towards me. I can't help but feel a bit taken back by all the compliments.

"Thanks." I whisper softly. Dan looks up and smiles at me. My heart literally just melted.

"Well, we better get going. It's an hour drive back to London. We don't want to go back too late." The girls nod and give me a hug good bye each other. They both went over to Dan to give him a hug too.

Once we begin to leave Dan's Father calls me over. "Charlotte I really think your work is amazing. I was wondering if you wanted to maybe work for our family?" I look to Neville.

"That would be amazing you're hei..." He sends me a look. "Sorry, Thank you Neville." He smiles and nods.

"I'll have you come by a few days and we can organize you a contract. I know Daniel is thinking of a new project which I think your skills would be much appreciated." I stand there in shock that would be amazing.

"Oh My God! That would be amazing! Thank you so much." I can't contain my happiness. I throw my arms around him thanking him over and over again. Then I realise what I did and pulled back.

"I'm so sorry. Thank you so much." I bow my head slightly down. I really embarrassed by my actions.

"Honey don't worry. It's fine." He smiles and places his hand on my shoulder giving me an original weak smile that slowly grows wider in confidence.

Dan walks over to me and gives me a warm and secure hug. "Congrats Princess." He whispers into my hair pushing stray hairs behind me ears. I look up to him and he a knowing smirk on his face.

"You did this didn't you?" I cross my arms and raise an eyebrow.

"Yeah I just, well we have become really good friend the past month and well, I -I wanted you to- I thought it would be fun..."

I cut him off give him and hug. "Thank you. I don't know how to thank you any more." Dan hugs me back. His arms are strong, warm and protective. I feel like I just fold straight into them. It's like two intricate puzzle pieces that only lock together and don't fit with anything else.
