Chapter 2 09/02/15
I turn around and find my family is there staring at me. They must be confused with who the strange, very handsome man with me. I never brought any guys home. I never really had a real boyfriend. Yes, okay, I am still a virgin. No I don't believe in waiting till you're married but I want to find the right guy before I give that part of me away too quickly. Some say 24 years is long enough, but I don't care.
My best friend Arianna had a one night stand when she was in high school. The father said she wanted nothing to do with her or the baby. All through Uni she stayed with me. She went through a hard time trying to look after her new baby boy, Jackson alone. He is adorable but when he was born she suffered postnatal depression. Thank god I was there to look after him when she was down. Her Mum and Dad kicked her out and she was running low on cash. She's better now. Her beautiful baby boy is now at school and she has a sweet partner who helps her.
Yeah, I know not everyone gets pregnant after one time. But for me it's more about giving something up that is so scarcity and then that is taken away by a guy who doesn't care and leaves you helpless and alone. But really deep down, I haven't meet the guy I want to give it up to.
"Honey? Who was that boy?" Of course my Mum wants me to tell her about the guy before she say 'hi' to her own daughter who she hasn't seen in year. In High School and Uni I never really had a real boyfriend. There was the odd date, but nothing went past a month or two. I was focused on passing Uni and starting up my business.
I roll my eyes. "Hello to you to Mum." I pull her into a hug. She hugs back.
"Oh. I missed my baby girl so much." Mum squeezes me very tight.
"HEY! I thought I was your 'baby girl'." Pri stamps her foot trying to act annoyed. I know she's not.
"No Pri. You will always be my baby girl. Lottey is on too." Mum coo's her scared that she is actually annoyed. We all laugh. She is so gullible.
Mum looks like me. We both have pale skin and golden blond blond hair. Her's is cut short. Mine goes down to my mid back the end are a bit ratty due to all the travelling and very little time to keep it up. My mum has brown eyes but I have green eyes with a ring of dark hazel on the outside.
Pri looks exactly like me. If you have a photo of us at the same age next to each other we'd look like twins. When I'm home we play around together. From dress ups and tea parties, to cooking cakes and cookies making a mess of the kitchen. Barry is like my Dad. Let's just hope he doesn't bawled too, note the sarcasm. But we're really good. We love playing pranks on people around us. In high school we were known for being a really good pranking team. But I always found a way to send the blame on Barry.
"Ma, I was just kidding. I love Lottey. We are both your baby girls." Pri laughs and hugs Mum. Don't understand why Pri's name is so different than ours. Mum, Dad, Barry and I went to India before she was in the picture. We made friends with a family and they had a daughter named Priyanka. She was very sweet. We kept in touch for years Priyanka worked hard in school and now is working hard in India as a Doctor against many 'old fashioned' beliefs. But a few years ago she passed away in a car crash. We were all devastated. The four of us flew to India for the funeral. When Pri was born Barry and I got to help chose her name. We decided to name her after Priyanka. We want her to have the determination like she did to stand up against the people who said she couldn't. We thought it fitted well. But she is just Pri.
