A Carol

Twas the week before Christmas,
And all through the palace,
Not a guard could be heard,
Not even a cat.
The curtains drawn,
And fires roared,
As the king and his friend stood at the door,
Standing in the dark,
Nothing to be heard,
He called him inside,
And asked to hear of all that he's heard,
They talked for hours on end,
Neither wanted this to end,
As the sat on the couch,
Rather than standing about,

He looked at his friend and asked why.

"Why can you come here and know I'm alright. That I'm not hurt or even in fright. You left so suddenly, only a goodbye to your name. And yet you stand here with no shame." Asked the King, knowing the response this would bring.

"I wouldn't come back when you were hurt. You're a man Chad, and you're the king of this - dirt. You crawled your way here, you deserve all you have. And I wasn't to interrupt that, no matter how bad." Replied Sev, seeing Chad's eye light up like stars in the sky. "There's my buddy, there's the guy I that once saw fly!"
Cried Sev as he hugged the man he so dearly called his best friend.

He never wanted this relationship to end. The friend that he's made. He'll be there with his king to the bitter end.
