Chapter 1

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I shout as I walk into my house.

Today was the last day of school and it was finally summer. To me it's the best season because there is no more school and you get to hang out with your friends more. That's basically what I'm doing this summer, hang with friends, go to parties, hang out with my boyfriend, Jesse. Okay he's not my boyfriend yet but he will be by the end of summer. I hope. You know stuff like that. Thinking about my summer this year was cut short by my brother's voice.

"They're upstairs talking," my brother, Junior, tells me, not taking his eyes of the video game.

"What are they talking about?" I ask. Knowing my parents they are probably not talking, they might be arguing.

"I don't know, Jade! Does it look like I'm up there with them!," he shouts at me.

"Damn sorry, what bit you in the ass today," I remark.

Walking up the stairs to my room, my mother and father come out of their room with the biggest smiles I have ever seen on them.

Wow what a miracle, they seem happy.

"Hello Sweetie," my parents say in unison while at the top of the stairs.

"Hey Mom! Hey Dad! What's up?," I say as they start walking down the stairs and into the living room. I follow behind them and sit on the couch across from them.

"Kids we have a surprise for you," my dad tells me and my brother.

Not really caring what their "surprise" was, I went into thought of what this summer holds for me and my friends. I had this summer planned for since mid-school year.

"So what do you think Jade," my father's voice interrupts my thoughts.

"I'm sorry, what?" I ask not knowing what they were all talking about.

My mom gives me that disappointed look she always gives me when I don't pay attention. Dad on the other hand tells me what the surprise was.

"Jade, Sweetie, we are going to Ireland for the whole summer," he says really excited.

I looked at him in shock. We couldn't go to Ireland for the WHOLE summer! They knew I had my whole summer planned here in California with my friends. I couldn't spend it in a different country where I didn't want to go back!
