Emily passed out, tired as usual. But only, a different kind of tired. After she blacked out on their couch, her dad gave sleeping Marina to her mother, and was able to safely but quicky pick up Emily and take her to Max's bed. From there, Emily woke up and stared at her mother who sat on the edge of the tempurpedic bed and camouflage sheets. Her hand reached out slowly and stroked her head, making sure to let her daughter know that everything would be just fine. "M-mommy...." Emily said, not caring that she sounded like she was two years old. "Honey, it's going to be fine. Know why?"
She asked, and using her melodic voice, she sung to Emily "because every little thing, is gonna be alright.."
A few hours later, Emily got home with her banner. She sluggishly dragged the wet banner back to her room. Her mom wasn't home, she went out to get something from her fathers house, who was out on a business trip, and was told to return home in about a week. On the same day that Max was supposed to get back... She didnt feel like going to dads house, so since her house was only a few blocks away, she decided to walk there with no one stopping her. She walked in the house, dripping wet and trailing puddles of water behind her. When she locked the door, the storm kept raging. It was like she had walked 10 minutes through a hurricane, and a category 5 one at that. She dragged her banner through the corridor, the banner slowly tearing apart and dripping colored water that was leaking from the paint. She got to her room, threw her banner in the closet and got clean clothes, and some towels, and walked to the shower to get clean from the muck she endured. After she had dried off and all clean, she walked to the kitchen and got an apple. She promptly took a bite out of the green luscious Granny Smith apple and walked to the living room and turned on the TV. She changed the channel to her favorite show, Tosh.0 and grabbed her phone that was lying on the couch from earlier. She lied down on the long leathery couch and started texting Kaylee the news.
>Hay gurl, how was Max's house? Did you give a kiss to them from Kayleeeee?<
>No, I didnt. Kaylee, can you come over? I need to see you...<
>sure hon. Get a few towels, imma take my bike ther. C u in a bit, love ya <3<
Some time later, they were sitting criss cross on the couch facing eachother. Kaylee looked at her mopey face and tried to imitate it, leaving Emily the same.
"What happened over there? Usually when I make that face, you laugh so hard, so this must be serious. What happened?"
Naturally, Emily didnt want to talk, so she did what most sisters like them do. They basically give eachother a face that says everything, which worked. Emily looked into Kaylee's hazelnut colored eyes as her lip quivered. Her eyebrows scrunched up as she looked upset, and Kaylees eyes opened wide, and her jaw dropped. "He... He passed? From a gunshot to the chest protecting someone? Wow, Em I'm... Omg gurl, come here..." And they both leaned forward and hugged, as Emily hid her face into Kaylees shoulder and cried. Kaylee pat Emilys back, and laughed while she cried a bit. " heehee Emily, I'm sorry for laughing, it's just that... I didn't know you loved him that much. I'm sorry for not believing you. You two were made for eachother... Listen Emily. Look at me now." Emily retreated from the hug and looked at Kaylee. "Honey, I think that the reason he died was because Jesus said that he was too perfect of a person to be down here. He was an angel.... So god took him back." And Emily nodded her head and smiled at the thought with the song flooding back into her head. "There's the smile I love to see. Now, lets watch some Tosh.0, shall we?" As Emily said sure and they laughed as a video of a baseball game came on.
