///// Farkle /////

     It was finally Friday which meant I had double Potions with Riley. It was Wednesday when I had a class with her last. Wednesday wasn't that far from Friday but it felt like forever to me.

     I walked into Professor Slughorn's classroom five minutes early hoping that Riley would be there to talk to. I was disappointed to find that her seat was empty. Walking over to where I sit, I noticed the familiar black hair in front of my desk. "Hey Smackle."

     "Oh hello Farkle. How are you this afternoon?" Smackle said turning around.

     I sat down, "I'm good. You?" I quickly looked over my shoulder to see if Riley had arrived yet. She hadn't.

     "Well I am doing particularly well today." I heard her say but my mind was somewhere else. And that somewhere else was Riley. I hadn't talked to Riley since Monday, I'd never been good at talking to girls that weren't my mother. "Farkle!"

     "Huh?"

     Smackle smiled, "I asked you if you would like to study with me tonight."

     "Yeah sure." I said rubbing my sweaty palms on the knees of my robe anxiousily.

     "A study date?"

      Those three words were enough to snap me back into reality, "Sorry what?"

     Smackle cleared her throat and made sure she was making direct eye contact with me. "I was curious if you wanted to study with me. Like a date."

     I secretly wished Riley was asking me this question. After all, they're my two favorite things; studying and Riley. "Sure. That sounds.." I paused, "fun." It couldn't hurt to get some extra studying in and I hated to admit but Smackle was the smartest in the class.

     "Hey Smackle. Hey Farkle." I jumped. It was Riley. My heart was pounding in my chest and I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. "Hey, do you want to go watch the Quidditch tryouts with me and my friends tonight?"

     I must have been holding my breath because when I went to talk, I couldn't find my voice. "I'd lov-" Suddenly I caught Smackle looking down out of the corner of my eye and realized that I already had plans. I lost my voice again. I was going to have to reject Riley. "I can't. I've already got plans with Smackle. Another time?"

     "Sure!" Riley said.

     I sighed, "I'm sorry."

     "It's totally fine!" she assured, "I understand."

     My face was burning up, I couldn't believe I just rejected Riley Matthews. She probably thought I wasn't interested now. I just lost my future wife. I just lost my future wife. I just lost my future wife.

     And then everything went black.

     I couldn't wait for Charms to be over. We had just learned the Levitation Charm and then performed it on a feather. I got mine on the first try but Josh, who was sitting next to me, had some difficulties.

     I tapped my fingers one by one on my desk impatiently. I had detention with Mr. Perfect after class but that wasn't what I was looking forward to. Josh and I had plans to sneak off into the Forbidden Forest that Professor McGonagall banned us from. She's just full of shit if you ask me. I glanced at the clock and then to Josh who had a huge grin on his face. Only one more minute.
