Calebs POV

I am driving home when my phone rings. I answer it as I pull over.
"Hello?"
"Hello Mr. Prior. This is the principal of the school. Tris Skylar Eaton has blacked out and is right now being transported to the hospital. There is no explanation of  the incident.
I said I'd be there. I hung up and I sped off to the hospital.
.......
As I run in the doors I see doctors and nurses pushing her on a stretcher with an oxygen mask on with Collin pushing her empty chair.
I run towards them. Security stops me.
"You can't go back there!" One man said in a deep voice.
"I'm her caretaker! Let me through!" I yelled trying to push my way past them.
"I'm gonna need a restraint chair at ER hall 05" the security man said in his mic. 3 more officers came with the chair. They pushed me in the chair and tied me in. I couldn't budge. They wheeled me to the waiting room. I fought the chair but it did no good.
This is a nightmare. That woman is ruining her life because she thinks she is just like her mom. My sister that I let down. I tried to kill her. I was with Jeniane and she tried to kill her and I did nothing to help her.

I was angry so my instinct was to fight this. I realize I won't get to see her if I keep it up. So I let my muscles relax. I breathe slowly. I relax in the chair that holds me down.
2 hours pass by and they see I'm calm. They let me free when I can go see her.
They escort me back and they let me set down beside her. They walk out and it's silent. Well all except for the heart rate monitor. She is still unconscious. I look over to the other side of the room and see Collin.
"Hey. I'm Caleb." I said.
He jumped and then stared at me with big eyes. Then he relaxed.
"I know. She talks about you a lot."
I don't say anything. She talks about me?
"What does she say?" I asked.
"She said that you're there for her even when she doesn't want you to be. She said you are like a dad to her. You stuck by her side when her dad was. Well you know."
I smiled a little bit and looked at her. She was breathing as slow as the machine wanted her to.
I hold her hand.
Collin gets up and walks out.
I don't know why.

I decide to speak to Skylar. I doubt she can hear me but just maybe.
"Skylar. It's me Caleb. I heard what you said about me to your Friend. I didn't know you were that proud of me. Do you really think of me as your dad? I don't know if you can hear this but, I'll say it anyway. Your like a daughter to me."
I finished a few minutes before Collin walked in.
He sat back down.
I was zoned out when I heard the heart rate monitor speed up. It's Skyar. She is awake.
"Collin She s awake!" I said.
I stood up and grabbed her hand.
She was trying to say something but no sound came out. I took her mask off and there is still no sound.
She quickly reached up and help her hands to her head.
"Skylar. What's going on?" I say panicking. She groans in pain. We call the nurses in.
They hook her up to all different types of machines. They also hook her up to an IV. They pump her with Anti Syrum. She blacks out.
They push Collin and I out of the room.
I can't tell what they do.
"Caleb. Is she okay?"
"No. A bad woman put a syrum in her. She suffered no effects until today.
"Your really pale. Do you feel okay Caleb?"
"No. I don't. I feel panicked. She's hurt and I can't do anything. I treat her like my own. She means so much to me and I can't help her. And I really have to be there for her now! She has felt neglected for so many years and she finally was happy. Then someone paralyzed her legs and took her dads memory so that makes it harder on her because he doesn't love her and she needs that."
"I know she does Mr. Prior. She means a lot to me too. I was a shy kid. I was diagnosed with depression. When I met her, well, she was the first person I could talk to without being scared. My doctor said that since I met her I have been getting better."
"I didn't know you had depression." I said.
"Yeah." He said. "I really like her. I know I haven't known her long but I really like her Mr. Prior."
"I can tell." I said smiling over at him.
"When she wakes. When she feels better, I'd let you date her. Your a good kid.
"Thank you." He said smiling. "I really appreciate it. But now we have to focus on her condition now. "
"You're right."
He peeks in. She has a bunch of cords on her. She looked pale and sick.
She woke up. Just a few minutes of black out but better than forever.
We walked in. She said hoarsely "Caleb. What's going on with me?"
"Skylar!" I said rushing towards her.
"What is going on with me?" She asked again.
Collin quickly answered for me. "I was talking to you in homeroom and all of a sudden you stopped speaking and you looked sick. Then you blacked out. Then we took you here."
"Why couldn't I speak?"
"They said they found a syrum inside you. It's a new one. We have never seen it before." I said sadly. She nods and lays back down. Collin and I sit beside her.
