I hopped out the shower, got dressed and went downstairs. My mom wasn't home as usual, but I bet she was out somewhere getting high. My grams said that only seers are allowed to know about others seers, and if you go against the rules of the council, any outsider would be killed; sadly my father was human.

My father was held captive by the secret council on the eve of my 14th birthday, the day I discovered my powers; they killed him for knowing my secret. But being the rebellious child I am I had to tell him. I felt alone, since my grams didn’t live in the states at the time I felt he was the only person I could talk to about this. I can't tell my mom anything, she’s too unstable.

She can’t even control her own life, let alone keep a secret that can be life threatening to her. The house feels pretty quiet without him, I miss him more than anything. Living with my mom is like living alone.

When she's here, she's basically a ghost and she's rarely home anyways, so whats the point? I would much rather go live with my grams, but she lives on the other side of town and I don't want to leave my best friend behind. She's the only other person I ever told my secret to. I know its putting her life at risk and she knew that when I told her, but I just needed someone to talk to besides my grams.

She knows exactly what may happen and she's willing to risk her life just to help me. This is why I love her a lot; I know I would do the same for her as well. She's basically my sister. I can't help but do anything to protect and I bet if she was in the same postition as me, she would do the exact same thing.

That's how close we are. We would literally do anything or protect one another
