Bursting through the front doors and running past countless buildings, all of which just seemed like a blur to him at this point, Trey ran through the village at breakneck speed, jumping fences and hopping on top of plant pots in the process. He knew they were here. Before, he could not see or hear all that was going on, but now, the smoke and screams in the
distance made it all too clear: The Capital had attacked their village.Rushing past an alleyway, he came upon the full scene: Buildings were being brought to ash, the people were reduced to cold meat sacks, as most were already dead by the time he arrived. He couldn't bear to see the sight, with the slight taste of bile building up in the back of his throat more and more with every minute he kept watching.
Those who could stand chose to run away as fast as possible, away from the oncoming group of raiders, at least 50 in total, charging towards them. Trey didn't want to stay, but he knew he was the only one with the capability at the moment to stop them. Putting his left hand out to his side, he made a circular motion using only his wrist, then thrust out his hand. The area flashed, and a white ball formed into his left hand. The ball twisted and turned, contorting into a strange sword, and when it was finally formed completely, which only took 1 second to form, the light broke, and revealed a studded diamond-gold short sword. Gripping it tight, he faces the oncoming onslaught of people, bracing for impact.
He saw the blade being swung, and moved just inches away from it. Dodging the first swing, he deflected the second one, disarming the assailant, and threw him to the ground, knocking him out cold. The second one was just as easy, as Trey simply deflected and pushed back, not allowing them any further access. He also had no trouble dealing with two, as he simply did an old movie-inspired trick to make them hurt themselves.
However, he never expected 5 at a time, and the moment of pure confusion allowed enough time for one of them to land a clean strike to his jaw, sending him staggering back. But Trey wasn't one to be taken down easily. He retaliated with an even worse blow, knocking the man unconscious as well as two behind him down to the ground. The other two were nothing much more than a few simple jabs to the stomach.
A strange thing about Trey's fighting style is that, while he did wield a sword, he rarely needed to use it. He was very skilled in close combat. Though he could indefinitely use his sword to stop people like this, he liked the graceful feeling of using his own power. But that didn't mean he didn't have fun using weapons.
Wave after wave came crashing down upon Trey, but his determination was stronger and more relentless. He didn't give up, not at all. Not until he saw the controller of the raiders. A tall and burly man, much better described as a knock-off Goliath, and Trey was David. He wielded a scythe-like axe, roughly the size of three raiders together. And he was charging fast at Trey. This was strange, as most villains would normally make an opening introduction, but this one seemed more accustomed to silent combat rather than talk.
Attempting to size-up to the man, Trey flared his wings, and with one simple push, Fwoosh! He was sent flying forward at incredible speed. He flew past countless trees and raiders, all but a blur with the speed. The only thing he failed to dodge was the man's weapon, slamming directly onto his chest, smashing him into the ground, breaking it in the process. The blow turned everything to black.
