Kuro woke up to the sound of water splashing. Trey was putting out the remaining embers to last night's fire. It was surprisingly bright for the morning in these conditions, which caught him off guard when he looked around the forest. Trey noticed his friend waking up, and walked over towards him.
Trey: Up already, I see?
Kuro: I was just about to ask you the same thing. Why are you up so early?
Trey: I'm not really sure myself, it usually like this for me. Usually, Ijust go back to sleep, but this time, something caught my attention.
Kuro: What do you mean? Did something happen?
Trey: Well, remember what I asked you last night? "Have you ever wondered if something in your life wasn't as you first thought?"
Kuro: Yea, what about it?
Trey: I had a dream last night. Something that made me think over that question.
Kuro: Well, you mind telling me?
Trey walks right next to Kuro, then sits down besides him. He looks up to the sky, then sighs.
Trey: I saw...... something indescribable. I was standing in a room. But it wasn't a room, It was made of crystals, and it had no walls or ceiling. I couldn't move, or speak, nothing. All I could do was look forward, at someone staring back directly at me. He looked.... like me, but, y'know, without the mask and all.
Kuro: Yea.
Trey: And he just stared at me.... with a blank expression. We just stood there, staring at each other, for what felt like an eternity. But then he spoke. His voice, it sounded so..... familiar.....
Kuro: What did he say?
Trey: He said, "Trey....... you..... you're the only one who can do it. Your the only one like me. You and me are more alike than you know. You're the only one who bypassed the reset, and for that, I congratulate you. However......." That's all I could make out.
Kuro: ........
Trey: Well, that's enough dawdling. We've got a long journey ahead of us.
Trey gets up and stretches, then proceeds to walk down the path, his things in his hands. Kuro did the same, stretched and started to walk, but he stayed a bit behind Trey.
Kuro: This guy..... has got the weirdest imagination I've ever known. But,I've got to hand it to him: He is a great storyteller. I'm pretty sure, with what just happened, that I chose the right guy to stay with.
