Fight For You Chapter 25

Brooke's Pov:

"So..." Louis trailed off. "So," I awkwardly said. "So," he repeated, making me laugh. "I'm guessing Gemma set this up," I said. "Yeah," he nervously said. "What did she tell you?" I asked. "She said that I was meeting Harry up for something important. What did she say to you?" he said. "She told me I was having dinner with Harry for a brotherly-sisterly date," I said. "Now that I think of this, I think Gemma set this up and Harry has no idea about this," he said. "I guess we will be having dinner tonight together," I said. "From the looks of it, I think yes," he said.

We clinked our wine glasses together and took a sip. In mine was just ice water and in his was some special red wine. I didn't care for wine or anything related to alcohol. I hated it and I hate when other people drink it. The thought of it disgusts me.

"How are things?" I asked. "Good actually," he said. "Anything new?" I asked. "Not much is happening," he said. "We have been here for three days or so." "We only have been together for those three days," I said, I let out a giggle which caused him to laugh too.

We fell silent as we continued to look through the dessert menu (it was for later) but something else was distracting me and was on my mind. "Louis?" I said through the silence. "Yes," he said. "I have a question to ask you," I said. "Ask away," he said with a polite smile. "Now, I don't want to make this uncomfortable okay? If you don't want to answer my question then it is fine," I assured him. "Brooke, it's fine," he said, "ask me. I'm all for questions." He leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms over his broad chest. "You can ask me anything," he said. His right eye dropped into a wink.

"Who is Eleanor?" I asked. "Eleanor Calder." His smile fell as he sat straight up and was unexpected with the question. The question was a great surprise to him. It had never crossed his mind. "Ah Eleanor Calder... I haven't heard that name in a long time," he said, he let out a soft sigh. "You don't have to answer," I said. "No, it's okay. She was an old ex-girlfriend of mine," he answered. "Why do you want to know?" He asked. I kept quiet as I did not know how I should respond. I couldn't say what Gemma and I were talking about or that I was jealous about the thought.

He raised an eyebrow at me as he waited for me to continue. I sighed. "I was talking to Harry and one of the boys brought up Eleanor as they were playing a video game," I lied. I was sure he could see right through my eyes. "They did?" he asked, he was suddenly curious to know. "What were they saying?" "Something about the break up," I said as I was not so convince with myself. He stared at me with a blank expression. We fell silent as he continued to look at me questioningly. He blinked a few times. "Brooke," he said. "Okay fine. That is not what happened," I admit. "What happened then? Why are you so curious to know about her?" he asked. He waited as he was bouncing his knee like he was impatient to know my answer but, he didn't seem uncomfortable in any way.

"Gemma talked about you up at the mall. We started talking about you and I then, I asked about Eleanor and we started talking about your last relationship with her. She said, 'she didn't know too much about her but she seemed like a nice girl,' and she showed me pictures of the two of you. You both looked so happy together and I wanted to know what happened. Then, she said, 'I should ask Harry or you but you would be a better option to ask.' Then, I asked 'wouldn't he feel uncomfortable if I ask about her' and she said, 'she didn't think you would.' Then we stopped talking about it and we continued our shopping," I rambled on telling him what happened, I rambled so much that I even accidentally slipped out that I was jealous in which he caught notice of it and I didn't but he didn't dare say anything.

He seemed amused by this, because a smirk was playing on his lips as he let it all sink in through his head. "What?" I asked. I was confused to why he acting like this. "What were you two talking about? Something about you and me?" he asked with a knowing smile. My cheeks turned bright red from embarrassment. He was very humored by all this. "I never said that," I brushed it off. "Brooke," he edged on. My cheeks turned even more red. "I can't say," I confessed. "Tell me! We are best friends here," he said. "It was about our relation- friendship."I quickly caught myself from embarrassing myself anymore. "Our friendship?" he asked slightly disappointed. "Yeah."
