Fight For You Chapter 42

Brooke's Pov:

Liam, Zayn, and Niall sat across from Louis, Harry, and I as all of us sat at the table and ate breakfast that Liam cooked. This time it wasn't awkward like the last time we ate! "How was everyone's sleep?" Zayn asked, making conversation. "Good," everyone answered. "Eh," Niall said. "I couldn't get to sleep." "Well, that's good I guess," Zayn said. I checked the clock on the wall to see it was twenty till eleven. "I have to go," I announced as I wiped my mouth and tossed the napkin on my plate.

"Thank you for breakfast Liam. It was wonderful," I said as I stood up and grabbed my bag that was next to me. Everyone looked up at me in confusion. I grabbed my phone and put it in my bag before looking at everyone who stared back at me. "Where are you going?" Harry asked. "Work," I said. "I thought you knew." "Already?" Liam asked. "Yes," I said, "I have been off for awhile now." "Oh! Have a good day Brooke," Niall said. "Thank you, Niall. I will," I said.

"Here, I'll walked you down," Louis offered. He stood up and pushed in his chair. "I'll be right back lads. I'm walking Brooke down," Louis said. "That's fine with me," Harry said. "Bring back lunch if you can," Niall said. "I will," I said. I waved goodbye at the boys before Louis and I walked to the lift. He pressed the button and we patiently waited until the lift dinged and the doors opened. We walked in, he pushed the bottom floor button, the doors closed, and the lift began to move. The ride down was quick and short but unfortunately we had to stop at some floors because of people getting on but we managed to make it down.

"Do you need a ride?" Louis asked as we exited the lift. "No, I'm good but thank you for asking. I can walk and it's not that far of a walk anyways," I said. He smiled in return. "Okay then," he said. "Have a good day at work and please be safe. I don't want you to be in any harm." I placed my hand on his bicep to assure him that I will be fine. "Also, I'm sure Harry has some things planned after you get off so till then we will finally have our first official date," he said. "I like the sound of that," I said. "I love you," he whispered, leaning in. "I love you too," I said. I leaned up and gave him a quick kiss on his lips before walking out, leaving him alone in the lobby.

I walked out of the automatic door and down the sidewalk that led to my work. I clutched onto my bag and kept my head down to avoid any eye contact with strangers. I turned a corner and cross a street then turned a sharp left before crossing another street where my work was located at. I walked through the open door to see Johnny setting up the tables and putting the condiments on top.

"Hey John," I said. He looked over his shoulder and smiled at me. "Oh hey Brooke. Long time no seen," he said. "How are things?" he asked. I placed my bag in the break room and walked back out to help him with the chairs."Good. I found out I have a brother," I said. "I've seen in the magazines," he explained. "I didn't know you read those gossip magazines," I teased. "It just happen when I saw you on the cover with a male friend," he said. "Are you doing a background check-up on me?" I asked, teasing him a little. "Unless it said a young girl gets arrested for doing something totally stupid then no but whatever just start cleaning the tables," he ordered with embarrassment.

I grabbed a rag and a spray bottle. "I'm not letting it go that you were reading those silly gossip magazines," I mocked him, giggling. I walked over to one of the tables and began cleaning. He groaned and covered his face with his pale hands. "Is there anything new?" I asked. "Not really, I been working. How was your break?" he asked. "Hectic but most of the time fun," I said. "Hectic as what happened on your birthday? By the way happy late birthday," he said. "Thank you and yes," I said.

"Was it really as bad as those people were saying?" he curiously asked. "It was much worse especially since I have claustrophobia and anxiety," I said. "I'm glad you were okay," he said as he set the last chair down. I moved on to another table and started cleaning it. "Now, who is this Mr. Louis Tomlinson being the knight in shinning armor who came to your rescue?" he asked, smirking. "Was he your brother?" I blushed and stopped cleaning. To my luck, m back was facing him so he couldn't see my face.
