These Battle Scars

Courtney's POV

"Dan and Phil are so nice! You are lucky to have parents now." Rodney said. I grabbed his hand from across the table.

"I heard Dan wants to take custody of you so you could live with me." I said. "I love you."

"I love you. That's awesome!" He said. We ate the freshly made ravioli, talking about life and more about my parents. Once we finished we walked out of the room. We walked to the living room and saw Dan, Phil, and Delilah cuddled up together on the couch watching Game Of Thrones. We walked back to my room and Rodney opened his bag up.

"Mind if I change?" I asked.

"I don't mind. Can I change?" Rodney asked.

"Yeah. I'll take the bathroom and you can change in here." I said.

"It's fine. I've seen you in your bra before. I know what you look like." Rodney said.

"OK. Ummm." I said. Shit! He is going to see my scars! I thought. "Before I do, please tell me you will love me no matter what?"

"Babe you know that." Rodney said. I lifted my shirt, revealing all of my scars. "This doesn't look like its from the bathroom counter. Baby. Why? No more cutting. I love you and I want you to be safe. OK?"

"Ok baby." I said. I grabbed my pj shirt that said 'Shoosh! I'm sleeping!' And a really comfortable bra. I switched bras and put my shirt on. I slipped off my ripped leggings and put on my grey sweat pants. Rodney put on sweat pants and took off his shirt. He came over and hugged me. I laid down on the bed.

"Do you want to sleep here? And I'll sleep on the floor? Or do you want to sleep together?" I asked.

"Together if you want. We could cuddle and I could sing you to sleep." He said. He laid down next to me and I snuggled into him. There was a knock at the door. I ignored it.

"I was just going to give you a hug, but I'll go to my room. Night!" Delighla said through the door. I wrapped my legs around Rodney and fell asleep.
