"It was horrible! Everyone was just telling me what I was doing wrong... I'm starting to second guess accepting this whole acting thing." Cierra said to me. I rolled my eyes while trying to get the image of Bradley laughing at something I said at lunch out of my head.
"Calm down." I said, raising an eyebrow at her. "Well it's not my fault that everyone working in this building are jerks!" She exclaimed. I scrunched up my face. "Bradley's not a jerk." I said quietly, but Cierra heard me anyway.
"Well, except for Bradley... but didn't you say that you didn't like him?" She smirked. I opened my mouth to speak and then closed it, blushing. "I don't." I mumbled, my voice faltering at the end and showing that I was lying. She laughed. "How did you get him to sit with us at lunch today anyway?" She asked, changing the subject.
Before I could reply Gary clicked a button on his megaphone so it made a static noise, getting everyone's attention. "He sure does love that thing." I said, and Cierra giggled.
"Excuse me, everyone. We are starting filming for the kissing scene between Abby and Gabe, so would the extras for the movie theater audience please report to set as well as Cierra and Bradley." Gary said, turning off his megaphone. Cierra's mouth dropped open.
"We're doing the kissing scene already?!" She shrieked, cheeks flushing as her eyes nearly bulged out of her head. Her little outburst caused about half of the department to look in our direction.
A strange feeling started to bubble up in the pit of my stomach, and I furrowed my eyebrows. It almost felt like anger, but envy as well. I couldn't explain it.
"I wanna do this just as much as you do." Cierra and I spun around to see Bradley leaning against the wall with a bored expression on his face. "Which is obviously not much," He said, sighing. "But we have to, so come on." He said.
Cierra huffed. "What's so bad about kissing me?" She asked, frowning. He chuckled. "What's so bad about kissing me?" He replied, and she crossed her arms, not having an answer. "Anyways, I'd much rather be kissing someone else." He said, gazing at me even though the reply was aimed at Cierra. My cheeks burned as I turned my eyes to the ground.
"Well, let's go!" He said impatiently, and Cierra scoffed before stalking off towards the set. Bradley rose his eyebrows at her retreating figure and turned to me. I held in a giggle. "Drama queen." I muttered, and Bradley laughed as we started to walk slowly towards the set side by side.
The scene where Cierra and Bradley were supposed to kiss was decorated with fake movie theater seats and popcorn bags, along with dim lights that lit the place only a little bit. There were about three cameras positioned at different angles in front of the two seats that their kiss was going to happen, and the extras who were playing the other people watching the movie were already seated.
Bradley smiled tiredly at me before trudging over to where he was supposed to be. I smirked, spotting the chair that said "Bradley Steven Perry" on the back of it and plopping down on it, smiling cheekily at Bradley as he laughed at my weird antics.
I crossed my legs on the seat as the filming started. It took them about thirteen takes to get the dialogue right, and on the fourteenth take they finally got it right.
I had memorized the last four lines in my head by the time that they got to them.
"Hey, Gabe?" Cierra said sweetly to Bradley, placing her manicured hand on his wrist lightly.
Bradley smiled at her adoringly. "Yeah, Abby?" He said, biting his bottom lip. I almost laughed out loud at how fake his affection was.
"What would you do if I said that I really liked you?" Cierra said, cocking her head to the side.
"Well, I think it would go something like this." He replied.
They hadn't attempted the kiss yet, so I was surprised to see how easily they were leaning in to meet the other's lips. I was also surprised about the surge of anger that coursed through me when they actually kissed.
My mouth dropped open as the director said cut. Bradley immediately broke the kiss, making a face. "Ugh, ew." He said, pretend gagging. Cierra rolled her eyes. "Stop being so dramatic."
I clenched my teeth as my throat closed up from the envious feeling inside of me. I realized what I was feeling. I was jealous that Cierra got to kiss Bradley and I didn't.
"Hey, Julia, are you alright?" Bradley said, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder. Warmth spread through me, and I grinned up at him from my seat. "Yeah, I'm fine." I said, jumping up to stand.
"Alright, that's the end of filming for today! Have a good night and rest up tomorrow, we aren't filming, it's your day off." Gary said through his megaphone.
"Finally," Bradley breathed, letting out a huge breath.
"Do you want to come back to me and Cierra's hotel room for a little bit? Like, I mean, maybe we could get dinner or something..." I rambled, blushing when he smiled. "I'm up for anything as long as I get to be with you." He said, and I giggled.
Damn this boy. If he keeps on treating me like this, I might have the burden of falling in love with him.
