"Garroth, I'm not joking. I REMEMBER something!! I finally have a clue to my past, and you're laughing!?!?" I screamed.

"Aphmau, that village was destroyed YEARS before you first came to Phoenix Drop. There is no way that you would forget wandering around for 9 years." Garroth stated calmly.

I raged, but I could see the worry in his eyes, and sighed. "Garroth, it's the only clue I have. Even if it's a dead end, I need to know! I want to know why Irene's artifact was attracted to me, and why I could read Enki's book. I want to know where I come from, who my family is, my REAL family. I want to know if I was different then, too." I said, still seething, but calming down. Garroth took a step towards me, his eyes glowing with a fierceness I recognize, the spark that jumps up when he knows he's right. But before he could say anything, we hear church bell's and everything goes white.

*In Aphmau's house in Phoenix Drop*

As I woke up, I heard a whisper in my head, a whisper in tones of starlight. ~Only when you gaze into the shadows, will the light reveal within you a strength unrivaled even by the creators.~

I decided to head west, determined not to lose any time in finding out the truth. I stepped outside, and ran through the gates, waving to Alexis. I veered off the path as soon as I knew I was out of sight. I pulled out a diamond sword, and ran, following the whispers in the forest, the signs of wear, even recent, until it was nightfall. I stumbled into a large meadow, set up my sleeping bag and went straight to sleep. Little did I know that I had stumbled right into the ruins of Silikarin...
