Sebastian~

Just as I raised my hand to knock on the door, it swung open to show the most beautiful man I had ever seen. And his scent. My nostrils flared only slightly at the mouthwatering scent that assaulted me.

"Hi." I heard him whisper. I smiled at him.

"Hello, beautiful." He blushed a little. "Are you ready?"

"Absolutely." I held my arm out for him and led him to the car. I opened the door and made sure he was buckled in safely. He doesn't know now, but he meant the world to me already. It was the mating bond that was compelling me to stay close to him, even though I had just met him. I could feel my fangs prickle my gums as I walked around the car and got in the driver seat.

"I see you got all the marker off your face." I laughed but kept my fangs hidden.

"After thirty minutes scrubbing at my face, I did!" He laughed and ran his fingers through his shoulder length brown hair. I smiled.

It was silent the rest of the way to the restaurant, but thankfully it was a comfortable silence. One where we didn't feel obligated to constantly fill the silence. I bit my lip slightly as I suddenly got nervous. What if he decided that he didn't like me? That I wasn't enough for him? I mean i'm a vampire for fucks sake. Been alone for over a hundred years. Waiting. Constantly waiting for my mate. My other half. How was it that it so happened he was one of the EMT's that had been called to the man on my street?

I shook my head slightly as I got out. Why was I thinking about this so soon? Because this beautiful man was my mate. I just, couldn't exactly tell him that so soon. I walked around and opened the door for him. He was still blushing a little. We walked into the prestigious  restaurant and up to the hostess.

"I have a reservation for Zafar. Table for two." I told the hostess. He smiled politely at us and showed us the way to our table. I smiled and nodded my thanks as we slid into our booth. It was slightly secluded from the rest of the patrons, but not to far. I liked it.

"So, Xander, tell me a little about yourself." I sipped my water that was placed in front of me. He played with the edge of the table cloth a little.

"Well..I'm not really sure where to begin. Draken is my only son. I had him four years ago with a previous boyfriend of mine." His eyes darkened slightly. I looked confused as I raised an eyebrow.

"Wait a minute. You mean you actually gave birth to him? You weren't in a relationship with a woman and she had him?" His face went bright red and he looked down. I cleared my throat and scratched the back of my neck. "I'm sorry. That wasn't how I meant for that to come out. I just have never heard of that before." He looked hesitant for a minute then relaxed again.

"It's ok." He shrugged. "I'm actually not used to this sort of thing. I don't really know what is and isn't appropriate to talk about on a first date." He blushed and I smiled at him.

"No worries. I meant no harm by asking that. Just caught me off guard." I licked my lips but was interrupted by our waitress.

"Hi!" She chirped. "My name is Arina and I will be your waitress today." She handed us our menus. "Would you like something else to drink besides the water?"

"I'll have a sweet tea." Xander mumbled. I smiled and nodded.

"I'll have it as well. Thank you." she nodded and practically skipped off. I smiled and looked back to Xander.

"Tell me about you, oh mysterious Sebastian." He smirked. I laughed.

"Well, there isn't much to know about me. I moved here a couple years back. I don't have any family around here, and my best friend lives just a couple hours away." I shrugged. Arina came up and set our cups on the table.
