Chapter 1

Lillian's POV
I don't know much about my past. Just that my parents were killed by rogues when I was 5. Since then I haven't felt like I belong. A lot of people in my pack, the Silver Blood pack, hate me and I don't know why. All they do is complain about why I exist or say "Lillian do this or that" they never say anything nice.

I was taken in by my best friends parents, the Smith family. Liam and Emma are the only ones that don't treat me like scum. I have a feeling Alpha Xavier has the whole pack turned against me. Except my adopted family.

I wake up to Emma screaming. "Ughh, EMMA, I'm trying to sleep!!!" I look at my alarm clock to see its 5:30 in the morning. There's no point in going back to sleep now.

I get out of bed and walk down the hallway to see what Emma was screaming about. "This better not be another spider your screaming about." I say when I come to the bathroom.

I stand there staring at her. There on her face drawn in sharpie was a penis. I start laughing until I see her face getting red. She reached for her hairbrush getting ready to throw it. That's my cue to go now.

I run down the hall to my room yelling "nice one Liam" right as the brush hits my door. I hear him laughing downstairs.

The next thing I hear is," I'm not going to school with this on my face!" Liam is always the prankster. "Try putting hairspray on it" I say as I'm grabbing clothes from my closet. I walk back to the bathroom shooing Emma out so I can take a shower. As I'm closing the door I can her Emma saying " I'm going to kill you Liam!!"

I hop in the warm shower and start washing my hair,with my rosemary and mint shampoo. It's a weird combination but it smells so good.

I don't know how long I was in the shower for until Emma pounds on the door, bringing me back to reality," hurry up Lillian I still need in there." I get out and look at my phone. Crap I've been in the shower for 15 minutes. I hurry to get dressed and run downstairs to eat something before we leave for school.

With Liam driving we make it to school with a few minutes to spare. "Cutting it close Liam" I say while I'm jumping out of his truck. "Hey I got you here didn't I. Next time I'll make sure your fashionably late." He says a little sarcastically, or at least I hope he did.

You don't want to mess with Liam unless your ready to start a prank war. Which I was not, I don't want to wake up with a penis on my face like Emma did.

A few hours into school I'm sitting in math class almost dozing off when I feel something hit the back of my head.

I turn around to see none other then Luke, the alpha's son. He had thrown a pen at me, a pen! I growl and turn around, luckily we are in an all werewolf school.

"Just ignore him, he's a no good loser" I hear my wolf Sage say. I just chuckle at that and try to focus on the board. It didn't last long until he's throwing other things at me. This was going to be a long class period.

The bell had finally rung dismissing us from another lecture, and saving me from more torture from Luke. I meet up with Emma and head to the cafeteria. I see Liam already sitting at our usual table, with Aiden. "Ugh does he have to bring Aiden to our table!" Emma says with disgust in her voice. "He's always hitting on me, can we sit somewhere else today?" Emma pleads with her best puppy dog face.

"I guess, but only for today." I sigh, knowing the only other empty table is close to Luke's table. We make our way to the table. I start eating my lunch when I hear Luke say, "Hey look who it is, it's the orphan scumbag." He said sneering at me while his friends laughed. I just ignore him and continue eating my lunch, but not before the word orphan sends a shot of pain to my heart.

Finally school was out. "I'll meet you guys back at the house. I'm going for a run." I mind linked Emma and Liam. I don't wait for a response, I just run into the woods.

I went behind a tree and striped down. I shifted into my reddish brown wolf with one black paw. I've heard that some mates have a patch of their mates color on them. But I've never seen any of the mates in my pack having other colors on them.

I let Sage have control for a little while. We came to a stop at a small lake. It was beautiful, the sun setting on the water was amazing. It had little pink and white flowers around and lily pads in the water. It was breathtaking. I don't know how I haven't found it before. "Let's go swim!" I suggested to Sage as I shift back. The water felt nice especially since it was a hot day today.

I was enjoying the water when I hear a twig snap. I look around, but don't see anything when I know something is there. Getting out of the water without making too much noise, I shifted into my wolf and ran back home.

Walking into the house I see my step parents come out of the kitchen. "Where have you been young lady?" My step mom asks while she looks at my dripping wet hair. "I went for a run and found a small lake that I went swimming in. I'm going to take a shower now." I tell them while heading up the stairs.

After my shower I walk into my room and flop onto my bed. I hear my door creak a little and I see Emma walk in. "Do you think we will find our mates soon?" she whispered. If I wasn't a werewolf I wouldn't have heard her. "One day." I whispered back, wishing it was now. I just want to get out of here. Not that my step parents are mean or anything, it's the pack. We just sit there in silence for a little bit.

I get up and put Mean Girls on to get our minds off things. "Luke can be so much like Regina." I say while we start to burst into laughter. "If he was a girl." Emma says around a mouth full of popcorn.

We must have fell asleep halfway through the movie. I open my eyes to see the movie just finishing. I get up to turn it off and then I see a pair of eyes watching me from outside my window. The eyes were gone when I blinked. I'm probably just seeing things. I crawled back into bed and didn't think of the eyes again.
