Annabelle's POV

After a few hours I pulled up to my aunt's house. I got out of the cab and stepped onto the sidewalk and walked to the door. The driver followed me with my bag and I knocked.

The door slowly opened as I heard a weak voice. "Who... Who... Who is it?"

"It's me Abbie!" I spoke softly as she opened the door.

"Why Annabelle! My sweet Annabelle!" She hugged me. I felt that her strength was getting less existent every second so I took her arm and walked inside. We sat on the couch as the driver came in and pointed at my bag. "Just put her things there" she gave him a weak smile and pointed to the stairs.

As she closed the door I started to speak. "So Ms. Abbie. How are the treatments going?" I smiled at her.

"Well honey, they're going good!" She smiled back at me. "But let's not talk about my pesky treatments! I have something to tell you!" She placed her hand on my arm.

"And what is that?" I placed my hand on top of hers.

"Well you know that I don't have enough room for you to stay here..." She said quietly.

"You don't? Where am I to go then?" I said playfully.

"Well I arranged a flat viewing with my dear friend. You remember Rodney?"

"Yes I remember Rodney. How could I not? He always took me to the market when I visited you when I was little!" I thought back to when I lived in America and came to visit my aunt every summer. That was when she was healthy. She used to glow, and be so beautiful with her long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. That's all gone now. Now she's tired, and weak, and let's not even talk about what chemo has done to her.

"Well he's taking you at 2 tomorrow. Okay? I want you to be ready! Also you have to have a way of making money around here..." She trailed off.

I looked at her wondering what she was thinking. "What do you mean?"

"How are you with flour?" She gave me a smirk.

"I'm okay I guess. Why?" I looked at her sternly.

"You remember the old bakery? W. Mandeville?"

I knew where this was going.

"Well my friend Barbara has decided to help you out with a job there!" She gave me a big grin.

"You've got to be joking." I said with seriousness in my voice.

"Come on. At least try to act excited. It's an income." She said giving me a stern look.

"Okay okay. It's getting late Abbie. We should get you to bed." I said helping her to her feet. She nodded in agreement and walked up the stairs. I took a pillow and a blanket and laid them on the couch while i went to the bathroom and took off my make up and changed into some pajamas.

*Next day*

"Annie, wake up sweety." I heard my aunt's voice.

"Good morning" I yawned and stretched out my arms. "What time is it?"

"It's almost 11. So you better get up and get showered." She pulled my blanket off of me.

I moaned and did as she commanded. I went to the bathroom and showered and dried myself off. I wrapped my towel around me and went and looked in my suitcase and put on my dark blue skinny jeans, denim button up with the sleeves rolled up, a scarf, and some flats (Outfit on side). Then I braided my long dark hair loosely to the side and put on my make up. By then it was only 12:30.

"Annabelle..." My aunt called from the kitchen.

"Yes?" I said walking in the kitchen to see her sitting at the table sipping some coffee.

"Would you mind running to the market for me? Please?" She gave me a little smile and handed me a list of groceries and some cash. I nodded and grabbed my purse and walked out. Once I reached the market I picked out the things from the list and walked down towards some magazines. And me being my clumsy self ran into a couple of girls.

"OH MY GOD. WATCH IT." The taller one snapped.

"Hey, i'm sorry. I didn't see you there." I said politely.

"Yeah, whatever, just watch where you're going." She huffed and turned back to her friend. "Oh my gosh, no, Louis is totally my favorite!" She squeaked.

"Zayn is totally gorgeous! And so is Harry! And I heard they're coming here!" The other jumped up and down.

"Who am I kidding! I'm going to marry all of them one day!" The bitchy one squealed as her and her friend were looking at a magazine. I was wondering who they were talking about but didn't care enough to figure out. So I walked away and paid for my groceries and left.

Walking down the sidewalk I stumbled trying to carry all of my aunt's things. Well, some of mine too. I wanted some crisps, don't judge me! I made it half way back until I started dropping things. I groaned and tried picking everything up. I bent down and noticed the eggs were broken. Just my luck. But then I saw a pair of boots standing in front of me. I slowly looked up and saw a curly headed boy standing there.

"Hello!" He said smiling.

"Hi? Can't you see i'm busy!" I admit. That was harsh. But hey, I was in a bad mood and I didn't need some kid trying to talk to me.

"Here let me help you" He said picking up a couple bags.

"Thanks, you don't have t-"

"It's no problem, really." He cut me off flashing a dimpled smile. I stood up picking up the back with the broken eggs in it and groaned.

"So much for that!" I huffed.

"So where are we going?" He said as we walked down the street.

"My aunt's place." I looked at him. He looked so familiar. I didn't know why though.

We walked to Abbie's house and stopped outside of the front door. I turned to him and he looked at me curiously. "Well thanks a lot." I said as I took the groceries from him.

"Yeah, no problem." He waved and walked away. I opened the door and walked inside. My aunt was sitting at the table reading a book. I set the groceries down and coughed getting her attention.

"Here ya go. I kind of had trouble and the eggs kind of broke." I looked at her hoping she wouldn't be mad.

"Well that's fine. I can do without." She said. I checked the clock and it was already 1:55! Rodney was gunna be here soon! I quickly put away the groceries and heard a knock at the door.

"Rodney's here. I'll see ya later Abbie!" I said kissing her on the cheek and started to walk to the door putting my sunglasses on.

"Oh Annabelle! I forgot to tell you, Barbara wants you to get settled in before you start work. So you start in a week." She called after me. I walked out the door and Rodney took me to multiple different locations. And finally I found one I liked. It came with furniture so I didn't have to buy any, thank goodness.
