(Y/N) POV: It was a couple of hours until the Wendigo came back. He brought back two deer on his back. I figured that me and Josh could share one, and Wolfie and the Wendigo could have the other. I told the Wendigo the plan and he and Wolfie started to eat away at the raw carcass.
Josh woke up and hour after that, sore as hell as I could tell. He grabbed his stomach and moaned a little. I felt so much pity for him at that point.
"Hey, you okay Josh?" I obviously knew the answer but I just wanted to start a conversation. He looked up at me and smiled a little smile.
"Not really... But with you I will always be ok." He said, looking deep into my eyes. He had never said anything like that before. I just smiled, blushed, then looked away. I heard Josh chuckle a little.
"What?" I asked. He looked back at me.
"Oh nothing..." He said back, keeping me asking.
"No seriously! What?" I asked quickly. He just kept staring at me.
"It's really cute how you blush at compliments like that." He smiled, still chuckling a little. I blushed some more. Josh kept laughing.
"Damn! That's really cute!" He said, still looking into my eyes. I couldn't help but keep blushing. Josh turned my head to face his. He leaned in and kissed me softly but passionately at the same time. It was amazing! After we stopped kissing I asked him,
"Are you hungry?" He looked at me, eyes a glossy white. I was taken aback.
"What? Is something wrong?" He asked, panicked. I started to freak out.
"Your eyes!!! They're white like a Wendigo's!" I backed up a little. His eyes widened.
"Oh god! Please (Y/N), don't be afraid! It's still me, I promise." He crawled towards me and grabbed me into one of his strong hugs. I was shaking a little, I didn't want him to turn into a Wendigo and I guess that I kinda forgot that I couldn't change that... No matter what! He kept me in his arms, rubbing circles on my back.
"Don't be afraid (Y/N), please. I don't want to scare you. And I would NEVER hurt you!" He whispered in my ear. His voice was deep and calming... Almost hypnotic to me. I nodded dreamily.
"Ok." Was the only thing that I could get out. It was happening so fast... I didn't think that I could stop it. When he let me go he asked,
"You ok?" He looked at me with the worry lines under his, once again, hard, grey eyes. I nodded.
"Yeah I guess so. By the way, your eyes just changed back." I said awkwardly. He looked confused but then he said,
"Oh... Well... Ok... That's weird though." I nodded again,
"You could say that again!" I said slowly. This was the weirdest guy I ever met! And yet... He's like a part of my family now.
We are the deer together, I made a fire and cooked my meat. While Josh just ate the guts and organs raw. I looked over while I was eating and saw that Wolfie had fallen asleep with the Wendigo curled around him. I smiled. We were now like one weird ass family!

FLASH BACK: 6 days ago.
Sam's POV: We had just gotten out of Mt. Washington. All of us had survived the night... Except for Josh. Mike had told me that he was taken away from him in the mines by none other than Hannah... My best friend! I felt so awful. But I couldn't do anything about it sadly.
After the helicopter had rescued us, we were taken to a police station to be questioned. None of them really believed us about the Wendigos and how they were once human. I don't think any of us had gotten through to them! I decided to just cut the crap and get straight to the point.
"You need to listen to me. I don't care if you believe me or not, because you will! You need to go down to the mines!" I said menacingly. The officer seemed confused.
"What's in the mines Sam?" He sounded VERY confused. I smiled, I was getting through to them.
"I've seen what's down there. And I'd give anything to un-see it!" And with that, I got up and left a very confused officer. Maybe now they will listen to us!
FLASH BACK END
Sam's POV: It had been a week since we were at the lodge. Our families were so happy that we were ok. Except for the Washington's. They were incredibly distraught about loosing all three of their kids. They shut everyone out and didn't talk to any of us. But of course, none of our parents believed us about the Wendigos. They just brushed it off as we were just incredibly traumatized.
"I guess we can't make them listen." I talked to myself. I had heard news that they were sending a rescue team to find Josh, and anyone... Or anyTHING else. They were supposed to be back after a couple of days. But they hadn't even used their walkie talkies in days! We assumed the worst and thought that the Wendigos had got them. So they sent another rescue team! Stupid!
"I just wish that they knew." I was still talking to myself. "But they DON'T know what they're up against. And maybe they never will." I just kept trying to hold onto some hope. But it was impossible!
