Chapter 24 - Efforts, Hurt, Realization

Lauren's POV

Justin and I were making our way to the school when suddenly something came up on my mind so I immediately turned around and started to make my way to an optic shop.

"LAUR!" I heard justin behind me. Oh I forgot about him.

I turned around to see him with a bewildred look on his face. "I-I thought you were going to school?" He asks me, still confused.

I gave him a smile and nod my head. "Yeah, but I realized that I needed something." I told him.

"And what was that?" He smirked at me.

"That's for you to know." I answered him. He sighed and ran after me. "Do you really need to get that something?" He asks me.

"Yeah, I need it right now."

"Is it a project?" He asks me again.

He really is curious. Well, who wouldn't be, right?

"No. Oh and it's fine if you don't want to." I said quickly and gave him a smile. He was kinda surprised at what I said but then he shooks his head and gave me a smile, a smile that I miss. His smile was just cute and it could brighten up your day, to be honest.

It isn't like I was inlove with him again or what but I was just telling the truth. Honestly, he really is cute that's why I fell for hi, back when we were younger. I don't know if I still like him though. Yes. I'm still confused about it, but one thing for sure I do like someone.

"Laur, why are we here?" Justin asks me as we were standing in front of an optic shop. I smiled uncontrollably and took a glance at him.

"Because of something, remember?" I sniggered.

He rolled his eyes at me and chuckled. "Are you going to buy me one? laur, I still have sunglasses and I can still clearly see your beautiful face." He winks at me as I rolled my eyes at me.

"Honestly, i'm gonna buy one for my bestfriend."

"And I am your bestfriend!" He told me, kind of annoyed.

Bestfriend, huh? he's joking, right? I guess he doesn't know what was he had done to me that he left me and lied to me, does he think that after that he could be my bestfriend again? and I could trust him again? Well no. I won't fall for that easily.

"Correction, EX-bestfriend." I said as I emphasized the word 'ex'.

I walked past him and got welcome to whom I guess was one of sales lady.

"What can I help you, ma'am?" She nicely asks me.

"Uh, actually I need an eyeglasses for a boy." I told her with a smile on my face.

She nod her head and motioned me to follow her. "Here, wait for the doctor and she would tell you what was the best you could buy for him. Oh, and did you know the degree of his eyes?" She asks me.

I reluctantly nod my head. "Y-yeah, I guess. I remember him telling me about that." I replied back.

"I guess he was your boyfriend?" She asks me with a smile.

I shook my head sadly but then I managed to give her a smile. "No, he's not. He's just my bestfriend."

"Well, if he won't ask you out. I promise you, he's missing something." She winks at me and left.

I chukled and took a sit next to a lady that was around on her 60's.

The doctor came out of the door and asks the nurse if who will be the next one. The nurse pointed her finger at me and that was the time when the doctor told me to come inside, so I did.
