"Have a good time at the party, Marc," Lissa says, as I get out of the car.
"Bye!" I wave as she drives off. Then, I walk through the car park to the town hall and hand my invite to the person at the door; before stepping inside.
The hall is packed with people, but it doesn't take long to find Raine.
"Wow. There's a lot of people- I thought big parties were your 16th and 18th."
"It's an important year for my family- ya' now, ten years since I was five," Raine explains.
Okaaaay. That was a bit weird.
"I like your dress, by the way," I say. I mean it too, the sections of dark green silk flow down to her knees and with her brown, ballet style gladiators snaking up her legs, she looks like a warrior princess. Her hair is beautiful too, it's in a low bun that has strands cascading out of it like a waterfall.
When Skinny Love comes on, Raine pulls me towards the dance floor.
"It's my favourite song, dance with me," she says, twirling round.
"Anything for the birthday girl," I laugh, placing my hands on the small of her back as she puts her slender hands on my shoulders.

Nineteen songs and four coca colas later, all I can see are Raine's magical eyes.
"I'm boiling. Will you come outside with me?" Raine asks, interrupting me from my trance. We walk out of the room, hand in hand.
The night air hits us as soon as we step through the door. It's bloody freezing!
"Didn't expect it to be this cold, aye?" I joke, as Raine shivers.
"Shut up," she says, rolling her eyes.
Rude.
"Well if that's your attitude, missy, then I'm sure you won't want your extra present."
"Another one?! Thank you!"
Reaching in my back pocket, I pull out a small, black box.
"Close your eyes," I whisper, stepping towards the angel before me. As I open the box, I lean in on Raine's ear, murmuring, "happy birthday." As she opens her eyes, her face contains pure delight at the sight of the locket.
"Oh Marc! You shouldn't have!"
"But I did, because I love you," I say, seriously as I take the locket and fasten it around her neck. It's Raine who leans towards me this time, our lips nearly touching and her breath tickling mine as she tells me that she loves me back. Seizing the moment, I move my lips forward so that they softly, brush Raine's. I see her smile, so I go in for a proper kiss, and although we bump teeth; it's perfect.
