Luna Lilly's POV ( suprise!)

"Are you sure we did the right thing?" Jackson asked me. My poor mate, still doesn't understand what leadership is.

There's too many options to choose from before you actually take the fall yourself. In this case, that little tramp was his.

"No." I replied. I had to be blunt with him, sugar coating things wouldn't help one bit. "But we did what was necessary in order to protect our pack from a delusional and very dangerous man."

Jackson's handsome face contorted with both worry and guilt. I siddled to his side where his tense form stood facing the large window behind his desk. The window offered a magnificent view of our pack grounds along with our gardens but I could tell my mate wasn't exactly enjoying the view, instead overthinking the night's events.

Hugging him from behind, I mumbled into his back. "Look on the bright side my love, we saved our little boy from a disastrous mating." Silence. "Or would you rather he mate the little slut?" That got a reaction.

"That little boy is 18 years of age," He spat the words with much dis-taste, swiftly ripping out of my arms as he turned. "HE should make his own damn decisions and YOU need to stop coddling him!"

"I only acted in the pack's best interest, it would be the end of Canyon if she were to lead alongside JJ. Think about it, they'd need only to bed his loose mate to destroy him!" I argued, holding his face in my hands.

"HE should've protected his mate. instead of humiliating us and cowering like a kid. What the hell are we sending him to LASN for?!" He yelled, his wolf already surfacing. I knew he'd sooner ask for JJ and there'd be real trouble then. No, I couldn't let him, not now.

"A little hypocritical of you to say that don't you think, Jack?" Guilt tripping him shall do it. "After all, it was you who handed the incriminating book over to Emmery, sealing the girl's fate and you expect our son, whose not even an Alpha yet, to save her from your actions?"

He sighed, his eyes screaming defeat as they, alone, seeked assurance from my own.

There, no anger in sight.

"Sit." I instructed softly while spinning his chair around for him. My wolf wouldn't allow me to order him about because even though he is our mate, he's still an Alpha.

He dropped into the chair tiredly, his hand covering his eyes whilst resting his elbow on one arm of the chair.

"So, what now?" He asked peaking at me through his fingers. So adorable, but I prefer him less worried. I set to work on distracting him from his thoughts by massaging his tense shoulders. "What do you mean?" I asked to his question.

"What do we do with the girl? She can't stay in the cells forever and there are no real charges."

"Honey we are in charge, we can charge her however we want." The chair nearly hit me with how quick Jackson spun to give me an incredulous look.

I said that, didn't I?

"ImeanAlphaEmmerywantedtodealwithherinhisownway... so- we um- give him what he wants!" I retracted quickly, hoping he'd let it go.

"And?" But he didn't. "What if he hurts the chil-"

"Aaaand, in less than an hour we hand her over to Emmery, then she'll be off our hands, now hush!" I said straddling him while my hands found trail to his lower region, successfully quieting his endless questions.
